King's Highway 21
Highways
Hwy 21 is a long highway that runs from Owen Sound to Hwy 402 east of Sarnia. It connects the Sarnia area, Goderich, Kincardine, Port Elgin, and Owen Sound. It continues east of Owen Sound as Hwy 26 to Barrie. Before 1998, Hwy 21 continued south to Hwy 3 near Ridgetown, and was a freeway concurrently with Hwy 402. It provided part of an important link from Wallaceburg to Hwy 401.

HOME
Highway 21 looking southbound towards Forest from just south of Jericho Road, west of Port Franks, in the Town of Lambton Shores. This stretch of highway is located near the infamous Ipperwash Provincial Park, which has been home to much unrest among our Native Canadian Peoples for many years. This section of Highway 21 is in rather poor condition, and sorely needs upgrading. Photo taken 2 May 2004. (Photo courtesy Scott Steeves, HHSO Member 12)

NEW! The Ontario Government announced on 8 July 2004 that upgrading and resurfacing of Highway 21 from Forest to Lambton Road 79 (formerly Highway 79), including the stretch shown above, has begun and will be completed this coming December.
