ANNOUNCEMENTS
New:
INCREASED WORK LOAD: Students may experience an increase in work load this semester in continued preparation for their transition into high school.  Changes may include: increase in classroom work, shorter time periods to complete assignments, increase in the necessity to "multi-task".  We are also working on ways to better support all of our students as they adjust to these modifications. Please be sure to continue to support them as they work through this change!

Semi-Formal: The 8th Grade Semi-Formal will take place May 29th, 7-9:30pm in the Main Gym.  Tickets are 2 for $15 until May 1st, so get your tickets soon!
Next Early Release Days: Students will be released at 1:30pm on Wednesday, 04/22 & 5/6
The forth quarter progress reports will be sent out 2 times before the end of this quarter: 4/24 & 5/15
Report Cards will be mailed home at the end of the quarter.
EOG TESTS: Your child will be taking the Math & Reading EOG tests at the end of this school year.  All students must pass these tests in order to proceed to the 9th grade. Please go to the HOME PAGE for a link to EOG/Benchmark Study/ Practice Questions!

PARENT COMMITTEE: The 8th Grade Team is looking for dedicated parents who are willing to committ to our Parent Committee this school year!  These parents will plan dances, fundraisers, and other events for the 8th grade students.  Your help is greatly needed!  Please have your child return the Parent Committee Invite to Mrs. Bugg to receive homework credit.
The Computer Skills Test will take place on Monday, November 3rd. Please click the link towards the bottom home page labeled "Computer Test Prep" for more info!
All parents should receive a mailing from the 8th grade team that contains the following: 7th Grade EOG Scores; 8th Grade Benchmark Scores; Copy of PEP (if applicable); Tips for Parents; Ways the 8th Grade Team Communicates.  PLEASE LOOK TO RECEIVE THIS MAILING DURING THE 1ST WEEK OF FEBRUARY

The Dress Code & Electronics Code are being strictly enforced this year!  Please remember to remind your child to place all electronics in their bookbag during the school day.  If seen they will be confiscated. 
Hats are not permitted at any time during the school day.  Please check your child's attire each morning to make sure that all clothing is the proper length, etc.  Also, no messages that involve DRUGS, SEX, VIOLENCE, BIOGOTRY, etc. are allowed!!
