Well, friends, looks like the end is here.  The Moon Monsters we all know and love have unfortunately broken up.  But thank you for all of you have have supported us these past 1 1/2 we've been together.  It has been nothing short of fantastic and we sincerely appreciate all the support you have given us.  I'd like to start off this news update by saying thank you to everyone who came to our Farewell Show last night.  We had such a great time!  And Thanks to Postcards Home, EarthBound and the almighty ACTC for making our final show so wonderful.  I'd like to give an extra thanks to Nikki Peterson as well.  She had a really bad night, and all of our deepest sympathies are with her.  And Ted, good luck with your brother.  Last night was a way fun night though.  This band has meant the world to me.  More than I could ever express in words.  I'm very thankful to have been a part of such a wonderful group of guys who make such wonderful music together.  We always managed to have fun in whatever we did.  This band will always hold a special place in my heart.  Thanks for everything.  And Thanks to everyone in the Moon Monsters.  You guys have been like a second family to me and I hope I stay in touch with you guys forever.  I'll try and keep this webpage up and running with updates on the current status of band members and such.  I'll hopefully be seeing all of you soon so keep it rockin!  Now, fasten your seatbelts and keep your tray tables in their upright and lock positions because Skippy and the Peanut Butters are gonna blow you away!  We have our first practice next Tuesday, so lets just pray that it goes well.  To anyone who is reading this, thanks for everything.  You have made me the happiest teenager alive.

Hey its a few days after the show, I apologize to everyone who went to the wrong address (beat up Evan if you see him)!  Anyways it was great, the crowd was unruly the cops showed up cause of some complaining neighboors.  We had a blast!
Thanks to all the kids who played with us, and also threw change into Bruce's Dentist Fund.  Yes that crazy kid is getting dental work done cause he never brushes his teeth, that means lots of cavaties and even a root canal!

2/28/02
Hey!  How are you doin?  Thats good to hear!  I hope all is well with all of you people.  Sorry we haven't been keeping you updated as much as we'd like to.  We'll try and be more on top of that.  As you may or may not know, The Moon Monsters started recording last week and let me just say so far so good!  The sound quality is amazing!  So everyone give a huge round of applause to David!  We should be done with the cd in a few weeks here, but as that date comes closer and closer, we'll be sure and keep you updated.  Lyrics to "Rainy Days for a Brighter Tomorrow" are finally up, so go check them out.  Big Huge Ginormous show coming up on the 22nd of March that all must attend.   We're playing with phenomenal bands that you can't miss, plus, it'll be a cd release party of sorts for us, and maybe ACTC as well.   For more details, got check out the "Shows" section.  Well, times a-wastin'.  So until next time, peace out and be excellent to each other.

2/10/02
Howdy folks!  I hope all has been going well for all of you.  I know it has been for the Moon Monsters!  Well, guess what!  Starting February 22nd, the Moon Monsters will start recording their upcoming album called "The Moon Monsters Attack in 3-D!"  So probably a few weeks after that is when you can get your grubby little paws on this monumentous album!  So that means that from today until February 22nd, the Moon Monsters will be trying to get their butts in gear and finish 3 more songs that will be on the album.  So I guess that means no shows for at least a few more weeks.  But after this cd comes out, we plan on playing many many many shows and sell as many cd's, pins, and shirts as we can.  Well, that about raps up todays edition of the update.  Until next time, "keep it real, homeslices".......er......yeah....... or how about "see ya in the pit!".   Yeah.  That works much better.....

2/04/02
Hey!  Sorry we haven't been updating the news section as often as we would like to.  Its just that we've been extremely un-busy with everything thats not been going on.  So without further ado, HERE'S YOUR FRICKIN UPDATE!!!
First off, the Moon Monsters are gonna start recording a cd towards the end of February and should have it done shortly after that.  We have some songs we need to finish up before we start recording though.  Second, to all you Moon Monster fans out there, we regret to announce that we'll be breaking up here in a few months, due to various band members going on their missions.  But, the good news is that Ryry, Andrew 1 and 2, Bob, and Moon Monster friend Clint Anderson are starting a new ska band called Skippy and the Peanut Butters, and it should be off the hook, yo!  They are planning to have their first practice this week and then start makin that beautiful music!  So be sure to check them out, and we'll keep you updated on them as well.  So until next time....same moon time, same moon channel!

We just played yesterday at the "Something For Santa" Thank you Utah Ska and Team!  And guess what!  The Moon Monsters were on Fox 13 news!  It was for our show yesterday and it showed like a 6 second clip of us playing our Ghostbusters remake!  It was so rad!  For all of you that missed it, bang your head repetedly into the wall.  Now on a darker note........due to certain events we had to cancel our show next week, but still go and support the other bands cause a lot of us will be there anyways.  Ryans Grandma just passed away and that is why we cannot do it, please sign his card,
Click Here to do that and look for the post called Sympathy Card. Thanks

I am up at 1:17 in the freakin' AM doing this.  We are getting ready for the big benefit show coming up, practices have been fun.  But hard to do cause college finals are all this week for Chris, Ryan, and Ethan. Good luck guys!  Rob just played with his other band (ACTC) at the Junction.  It rocked!  Their Demo ($2) is way good!  I'm switching to overnite graveyard work for $2 more an hour so if I look tired in the upcoming 20th show thats why!
Goodnight!

Moon Monsters played their best show ever on Sept 21 2001  Last Night!   It was so cool.
Anti-Cherrybomb Trashcans opened and rocked the house.  We played next and kept on rockin.  Finally Ez Cheez summed it up and man was it good.  That show had the best crowd ever, you know who you are! Thanks for rockin.

9/2/01
We played a B-Day party for Nate a rockin 14 year old friend of Andrew #2 (the Sax).  HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATE!  We did real good, and decided we really need to work on some new songs. We all have some ideas and at the next practice we will be consulting them. I (Bruce) was glad to have Shane there, even though everyone says I can do a mean bass, I can't, so thank you Shane.  We just hope Ryan doesn't lose his job, the ever loyal and faithful Singer!

8/26/01
OH yeah!  WE played a show at Solid Grounds (most likely the moon monsters fav. place to play) last night on the 25th!  Here's the story,  We had been planning this show a few weeks eairlier.  Well it turns out Shane our bass player will be missing in action unless he can make it home from lake pal a day eairlier.  Knowning our luck, it didn't happen.  So there we were without our bass player, 5 minutes before the show starts.  We had a choice to cancel, our play the show w/o Shane.  Bruce (our second guitarist) say's, "hey let me give it a try."  We were a little shakey to try it, but what else could we do.  So bruce grabed Shanes bass and rocked the house.  It was incredible, yes thanks to Bruce the show was saved and we all had a good time.

8/18/01
Hey check it out! Moon Monsters now have a new CD now available to buy for only (a low price) 4 dollars!  It includes songs such as: Laurent The Penguin, My Grampa Can Skank Better Than You, Big Pineapple, And NASA!  Pick your copy up at any show that the Moon Monsters play!

7/22/01
An awsome show we had last night if you were No Data, Spitball, or Instant Winner.  But If you were the Moon Monsters, well let's just pray that we ever get another show with those bands.  Something was wierd with the harmonics of the place the show was played, plus not to mention some guitars went out of tune in the middle of the show.  If you made it to the show, a sincire apology from us.  If you weren't, count your lucky stars.

7/5/01
Even worse news, kids!  The Moon monsters just had a show canceld and a show resceduled!  So don't come to Evan's for the show this friday!  'Cause it's set for next friday, the 13!  wow neato huh?  We also give our greastest apologys to those of you who came to our show on the 4th of July (wich didn't exist) for the great inconvenience.  At the spur of the moment, "Gettys" decided that we weren't old enough for to play!!!  Baaaaa!!! But please don't hate us, and come to our show on the 13th!  We love you. . .

6/10/01
Terrible  Terrible  Terrible  news kids!  We didn't play the show saturday 6/09/01   You now have permission to kill the few select band memebers that made this terrible action possible.  I won't tell you who, but he is in for a beating when I get my hands on him.  OH YEAH one more thing...  happy birthday to Amy Sulivan. Her birthday was today.  Chris, Ryan, Jake,  and Mike drove to the airport to see her but we couldn't find her, so instead we took I-80 west and went to Wendover, NEVADA!

6/2/01
We played another show today at The Solid Grounds.  It was incredibly fun, the first band Anti-Cherrybomb-Trash-Cans (ACTC) surprised us with a good set.  Keep on playing, guys!  We know that Single File was supposed to play, and we apoligize to those who came for them, but luckily for us, Nothing From Nothing came and saved the day at the last moment when S.F. couldn't show up.  They played second and sounded great.  Excellent lead guitar, and vocals made it an enjoyable experience.  (Unfortunately, their drummer Nick couldn't make it, so our one and only Andrew #1 had to fill in.)  After their set, we played.  We introduced our newest band member Green Giant and played our new song "Big Pineapple."  I had lots of fun personally, and wanted to thank everyone for being nice.  Rock and Roll!  (Thanks to Solid Grounds for letting us play even though Rob forgot to ask.)  -Shane (Cap'n Naughty)

We started our remake song. It is absolutly incredible!   It make me want to jump off the sears tower.  PS don't tell jonsey what it is if you know what it is  ha ha.

4/19/01
STOP!  DOn't Smell YOUR OWN POO   IT is REALLY BAD    anyways we finally finished our new song YOU AND ME DAY!  it will make you cry, it will make you want to give someone a hug, it will make you want to give someone a kiss. Personally it makes me want to barf.  Talk about a severe case of cheese so thick you could break a cracker on it, IT'S CHEESY!  but it is still one of our best songs yet!

4/17/01
Incredible incredible, The Moon Monsters test out a possible new PA system today.  It sounds so good, it sounded like two cars grinding together and then smashing into a truck full of ROOT BEER!  It sounded that good.

4/14/01
Finnaly we are done recording the Demo CD.  We still have to finish up the cover art and the thanks, but it will be done soon.

4/13/01
It's a good thing nobody reads these news updates, or they would never know that we now have our
lyrics, up and running, to most of our songs.

4/12/01
Well, we just finished Andrew #2's part for Skaaa, after exactly 2,345 tries.  If you listen closely, you might be able to hear many distant "OH CRAP!!!"s, "WHAT THE CRAP!?"s and "HOLY %*$@!"s in the backround.  #2 has now gone back into hibernation until our next show.

4/11/01
Today is Ethans B-Day and we are taking the opportunity of Spring Break to get a demo CD out for you guys.  we hope to have it for our April 20th show at Evan Stowers.  It should have all of our old songs plus our new "You and Me Day"!

4/9/01
New pics added!  Check out the pictures page to see some new pictures of the band and their enemies.  You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll spew.

4/4/01
Potato man meats his demise.  Unfortunately, the astronauts best new friend Potato Man was brutally ripped in half and thrown head first into a filthy garbage can only to be eaten alive by rats.  It was funny to watch, and their next song "Hamburger" will give reference to the brave, and sweaty Potato man.

4/3/01
The astronauts started the production of their newest song called "You and Me Day" today.  The love was felt all during practice, but was most notable when Ryan got all teary-eyed.  That's right, Ryan cried like a baby!

3/31/01
We now have music on Napster  just search for The Moon Monsters and, ala Peanut Butter Sandwiches, there they are.  Tell your freinds to tell thier friend to tell thier freinds about us.  Thanks

3/29/01
We had practice tonight.  attempting to make our new songs, we are still working the bugs out and hope to have them for our upcoming shows!

3/28/01
Today Ryan got his braces off, it was a great day of rejoicing.  He is now able to make the words flow now that they don't have to pass through the metal contraptions.  We will now be able to bring you our lyrics easy and smoothly.

3/24/01
We played our semi-first show today. At Kilby Court we took stage first, followed by a group of rad rockers called Single File.  After them Unlawful Skalors took the stage for the crowd that they single handedly brang.  Finally Spitball took stage and played their set with a few new songs and even a Depeche Mode cover.  Thanks to the other bands and the fans for making it a real fun night.
