A Moonbeam Spell to Help You Sleep Take your pillow to a dry area beneath the moonbeams. sprinkle a rosemary infusion around it. Work in a counter clockwise(widershins) manner as you repeat, Away from me the thoughts of the day, away from me my worried ways Then change you direction to clockwise(desoil), altering the incantation to, When Luna smiles through night's sky, so sleep will come to tired eyes. No more to wake, no more to roam, rest is welcome in my home. Repeat this last phrase as you put your head on the pillow every night. *Source Unkown* |

The Wishing Moons For 2002 March 28th, June 24th, September 21st, December 19th
Every third Full moon is a wishing moon. These nights are used for making lists of wishes, hopes, and aspirations, which over the next three months, should begin to maifest.
Write out your wish list, add a single drop of sandalwood oil to the paper (you can also use dogwood, jasmine, willow, or camphor oil) After the oil is added, slip the list inside your Book of Shadows, or other special place (I put mine in a small clay jar labeled Dreams). As you do so utter these words If Wishes were horses then beggers would ride, Over land, sea, and air on the wings of their pride. With never a doubt and never a dare, Never lose sight of the dreams in my care.
Place a moonstone under the light of the full moon, and project into it your need for the wishes you have made. Keep the moonstone on your person untill the moon grows dark, then store it safely until the next Wishing moon. Be sure to remove the previous wishes from the special place before repeating this at the next Wishing moon, especialy if they have come true. *Source Unkown* |

Moon Water and Stones On the night of the full moon take a silver (or silver coloured) bowl full of water out under the full moon. It is best if the water is rainwater or fresh from a spring, but bottled water is good to. Put the bowl in a place where the moonlight will shine on it all night. You can also place stones wuch as moonstone or crystals in with the water to charge them with the light of the full moon as well. You can say a little chant or speel over the bowl to charge the water and stones with the moons energy. Get us and retrieve the bowl of water before dawn. Put the water in a sunlight proof container, a clay flask or jug works well (don't use glass, even the dark kind, as it lets in light) Your moon water can be used for many things. Anoint yourselfe with the water before rituals dealing with any and all aspects of the moon. You can add some of it to a ritual bath to absorb the eneriges of the moon. You can add sprinklings of it to charms, during spells, to cast circles. You get the idea. You may have also charge some stones as well. Your chraged stone should always be away from sunlight, a small, dark cloth bag will do. It is a good idea to re-charge your stones. You can do this ever full moon (when you make up a new batch of moon water) , but it should be done at least once a year. Again the stones can have many magickal uses, depending on the type of stone you charged. I use them in dream pillows, or to put under my pillow at night for dreams as well. You can put them in the bath with you, like the moon water, to absorb the moons energy. They can be used in rituals, charms/amulets, or carried on you (in a purse or pocket). Just use your imagination.
*Adapted idea from Scott Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Incense, Oils and Brews* |
