Glenn's Journal for 9-23-02 - Dresden

Today is "chore" day. We will prioritize laundry and internet work today before heading to Prague tomorrow. We awoke around 8:00 am and I headed downstairs to the kitchen while Erin stayed in bed to read for a while. I had cereal, that we had bought last week, and sat with Kelly, Ryan, Casey, and Sarah. I also met a father and his son from New Jersey who were here to see his other son start school in Dresden. It sounds like a wonderful opportunity.

After breakfast I found Erin still reading in bed. We got up and headed out towards the laundromat. Erin kept the clothes moving through the wash and dry cycle while I worked on journals. After laundry we stopped for lunch while we searched for an internet cafe that would allow us to transfer data to our website. We did not have any luck finding one. We will have to try in Prague while we are there.

Erin decided to send emails while I finished up journals. I even got a chance to watch CNN International while I was writing journals. We do not get the privilege of seeing a television in most of our stays (Only 3 times in the 3 months in Southern Europe earlier this year) so we become a little out of touch with the rest of the world.
Monday's are usually a good day for "Chore day" as most museums are closed on Monday throughout Europe. It is also a wet and dreary day in Dresden as a cold front is moving through and heading south. We are hoping that it will move past Prague before we get there.
After journals and email we went out to dinner with a few other folks from the hostel including Kelly, Sarah, and another young lady from Korea (staying in the same room as us but did not speak much English). We had dinner at a Chinese / Thai restaurant just around the corner from the hostel. We did not want to go too far as it was still raining and cold. After dinner we just hung out in the hostel talking with different travelers before "hitting the hay". Tomorrow we are off to Dresden.
