Glenn's Journal for 11-9-02 Cape Town
Well, we were on the phone with my parents until after 1:00 am last night so we slept in today to our hearts content. The plan for today is do to whatever we feel like. After lounging around our apartment for a while Erin prepared omelettes with toast for breakfast. After breakfast we relaxed around the apartment for most of the day reading books and watching cricket or rugby on television. The day was sunny but very windy and cool with the temperatures between 14 and 19 degree C (54-62 degrees F without the wind chill). I relaxed in front of the window while the sun shone down on me for a while. Erin enjoyed the day just reading her book and relaxing. This is what we both needed today!!! Travelling can be more wearing than you realize and when you don't have your own place it becomes hard to find time or not feel bad about just relaxing all day.
At the end of the day we did clean up before walking over to Woodbridge Island for dinner. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Maestro's including giant prawns for Erin and veal limone for me. Maestro's looks out at the beach, Table Mountain, Lion's Head, and Cape Town. Dinner was very relaxing and a great way to spend our last night in Cape Town before taking out to Plettenberg Bay tomorrow. After dinner we returned to our apartment, and at 10:00 pm Erin's mom, Judy, called. Hearing the parents voice is always nice as we do not do this often (about once a month) and it is reassuring to hear their voices and for them to hear ours. E-mail works for the rest of the time but eventually it is not the same as hearing their voices. After the phone call we relaxed in front of a movie before turning in. |
