Road Trip 2005 - Weeks 4 - 6 |
After our Massachusetts stay, we trekked on to the capital city, staying with friends who lived nearby in West Virginia. We visited several museums and monuments, then headed to Cashiers NC for a rest with Glenn's parents at their mountain retreat. After 10 days of rest, we hit the road again and drove through a busy Great Smoky Mountain National Park en route to Nashville and Memphis, TN. |

We didn't take many photos during this part of the trip, as most of the capital monuments have been 'done to death', and Cashiers was our time of rest. We drove on from Cashiers through the Great Smoky Mountains, stopped near Dollywood, and went on to Nashville and Memphis. Again, not many photos due to bad weather and much indoor entertainment, but this was a beautiful section of country and lots of fun. Highly recommended! Note that the flags in photos at right and below are half mast in honor of the vicitms of Hurricane Katrina. |
