(excerpts from Sharon's letter...)
We had one wonderful year here at MAK (Morrison Academy in Kaoshiung), and are anticipating another one.  School starts a week from Monday, so our summer is coming to a close rapidly.  It has gone by so fast (1991)!  Terry will teach PE D-8, Social Studies, and I'll teach 2nd grade.

Susan Vandenberg was married yesterday (Aug 9, 1991), up in Taipei.  We were able to attend.  It was a very nice wedding.  Susan was glowing, and her husband, Rod, seems like a wonderful guy.  Terry and I sure would like to spend more time with them.  They are heading back to Bangladesh for one year.  Keith Brown and his wife, Sandra, were at the wedding too.  It was great to see them, and meet Sandra.

In Christ's love,

Sharon K. and Terry V.

Hi - how are you?  I'm doing great!  I've been married now for 2 1/2 years to a wonderful man - Ed.  He and his family pamper and spoil me (smile).  He is a CPA for an investment banking company in downtown Dallas.  We live in a suburb south of Dallas called Lancaster.  I teach first grade in DeSoto - which is another suburb that's about 5 miles from our house.  I've taught first grade now for about 4 years and absolutely love it!  The children are absolutely precious, and it's really neat to watch how much they grow and learn in a year.  I have also been working on my Masters degree in Early Childhood Education in the past 3 summers.  Right now I'm working on my professional paper and if all goes well I should graduate May, 1992.

Ed and I also have a precious dog.  Her name is JEPPY (She is an English setter).  She was named after Ed and I, because after we married, both of our initials became J.E.P. (smile)!  Mom is the one who gave me the idea (smile)!

God has really blessed Ed and I in so many ways.  We thank him daily for each other and for how He provides cares for us!
