Joy Tomlinson Pike Spouse: Ed Pike Children: Daniel (5), Mackenzie (3), Address: Lancaster, TX Where: That is a suburb in south of Dallas Hi Everyone I hope you are all doing great. I pulled out my 1982 Morrison T-shirt the other day and put it on to do some house cleaning and my son Daniel asked me if I was wearing it because I was 82 years old. I don't think I've aged that much yet!! We are dong pretty good. Our house has been on the market since last December so that has kept me more diciplined in my housework. Although there have been a few times when it was a bit messy when a Realtor showed up at the door. My mom says it is like the return of Jesus. We don't know when He is coming back but we have to always be ready so we are not caught off guard. Ed is the controller for a stock-brokerage company. He has to drive about an hour each way and that gets old. That's why we initially put our house on the market. He has been interviewing for jobs in other cities also - so we will se where we land up. The kids are doing great! Daniel is 5 and started kindergarten this year. I am home-schooling him so that usually takes up my mornings. He is a good little student and it has been a very positive experience. I don't know yet how long we will do it. We will just take year by year, Mackenzie is usuallly right in the middle of it all. She already loves to cut and glue. I try to get her to work on the computer or watch a show - but she usually says he wants to watch Daniel. Daniel also has been playing socceer this year. It has been fun to watch him improve week by week. My week is pretty much what the kids are doing. Believe it or not, homeschoolling, trying to keep the house showable and cooking and cleaning take up most of my time. We have been going to Faith Bible Church and getting a lot out of that. One of my hobbies is cross-stitching and I've been working on my Christmas stocking. I would like to be further along than I am, but it seems to come last. I feel just the same as when we graduated, but I'm sure I've changed. Ed tells me my accent is more southern, and I know I've become a bit more sarcastic. We dont' ahve any plants to return to Taiwan. I feel like it has probably changed so much that the Taiwan I remember is probably not there anymore... Mom and Dad have retired and live in Irving, Texas. that is between Dallas and Fort Worth. Dad is working on his doctorate at Southwestern Seminary and MOm has just enjoyed decorating their house and getting to know all the neighbors. They do quite a few things with their Sunday School Department at FBC of Dallas. I'm looking forward to hearing how everyone else is doing. Joy |
