Here's a great way to get rid of all of those annoying pop-ups if you use IE(Internet Explorer) as your browser.(For Windows XP) First, disable "Messenger service" in Windows. You don't need this service for the home computer. To disable, click on the "Start" button, then go to your "Control Panel" then "Administrative Tools" then click on "Services" then scroll down to "Messenger" double-click on it. Then under "Start-up type" click on "Disable" from the drop down menu. Then click "Apply" then "OK". That will eliminate all of those "Grey box" pop-ups. And to eliminate all of the other pop-ups from IE(Internet Explorer) 5.0 or newer go to "FreesurferII" and download this great FREE little utility that has virtually eliminated all of my pop-ups.
