Print only what you want to print from a web page- Do you ever wish you could just print that recipe or certain paragraph from a web page without having to print the whole darn page and waste all of your "expensive" printer ink? Well you can, and it's really easy to do. Just do the following. First highlight the text you wish to print. Then hit your Ctrl + P keys together. Then when your printer options dialog box appears just mark the circle next to where it says " Selection ". Then click the Apply button then the Print button and whallah! No more wasted ink! Shortcut to your display properties- Here's a quick little shortcut to get to your display properties where you can change your wallpaper, screen saver, etc.. First RIGHT click your mouse anywhere on a blank spot on your desktop( your desktop is the screen where all of your icons are). Then after the drop down menu appears click on " Properties". From here you can choose what you wish to do.That's it! Now wasn't that a piece of cake. Restore deleted files- If you've ever accidentally deleted something before you knew what it was, don't panic. Even when a document or file has been deleted, it's possible to recover it. First double-click the Recycle Bin icon. When the window is open, single-click the file you want to recover. To select multiple files, just hold down the Ctrl key and single-click the files you want to restore. Then open the file menu and select Restore. That should put your restored document or file back to where you deleted it from. If you've already emptied the Recycle Bin, recovery is a bit more difficult. Sometimes it can be done, but those steps are much to complicated for this website. Here are some windows keyboard shortcuts- F1= Start Windows Help. F10 = Activate menu bar options. Shift+F10 = Open context menu for the selected item. This is the same as right-clicking an object. Ctrl+Esc = Open the Start menu. Use the arrow keys to select an item. Alt+down arrow = Open a drop-down list box. Alt+Tab = Switch to another running application. Hold down the Alt key and then press the Tab key to view the task-switching window. Shift = Press down and hold the Shift key while you insert a CD-ROM to bypass the autorun feature. Alt+space bar = Display the main window's System menu. From the System menu, you can restore, move, resize, minimize, maximize, or close the window. Alt+F4 = Close the current window. Alt+F6 = Switch between multiple windows in the same program. For example, when the Notepad Find dialog box is displayed, Alt+F6 switches between the Find dialog box and the main Notepad window. Shift+Delete button = Permanently delete a document, file, etc. from your computer without it going to the Recycle Bin first. But, please be careful when using this shortcut because whatever you delete, you will not be able to restore that item because it will not be in your recycle bin. |
