Now, going into this movie- well, I wasn't exactly going on my own free will. It was more of a "go 'cause it's your sisters birthday" thing. I wasn't really expecting much, being it was a Disney remake and all. So, I walk in, the theater is full of friggin moms and dads and their little snot-nosed kids making way to much noise for their own good. So it wasn't looking all to well. Then the movie started... and you know what? It didn't suck, in fact, it was really friggin good.

First off, Lindsey Lohan is pretty darn hot in this movie. (And me being only 17, it's not illegal for me to say that, yet) And Jamie Lee Curtis did a surprisingly good job playing young-at-mind. The performances were extremely heartfelt and during the end, it acctually brought a bit of a tear to my eye, it being a sappy Disney movie and all. This was surprise number one.

Surprise number two came when some of the rock songs written for the film began to play. The music was really friggin good. So good that I've been bugging my sister to buy the soundtrack, seeing as it would look retarded for me to walk into Best Buy and purchase the
FREAKY FRIDAY soundtrack. Especially the last song with the guitar solo, HOLY CRAP, it was really good.

The story goes easy like this: bickering mom and daughter switch identities for a day and learn the perils of each others lives, finally understanding each other plights and worries, and finally reconciling. Sounds simple, right? Well the filmmakers manage to make a decent movie that keeps you involved throughout.

There is one key storyline that I kept becoming interested in and that's the one involving Lindsay's heartthrob crush on an older guy that works at the school. It was interesting they way they handled her crush on and older guy, and even more interesting the way they resolved it. Very interesting indeed.

So, props go out to Lindsay for looking hot, Jamie Lee for playing young, and the filmmaker for keeping me intrigued with a story and all that. Also, props go out to the soundtrack advisors and writers for giving out a really awesome soundtrack with some really good tunes on it.

Basically, props all around to those who made me enjoy a friggin Disney movie called
FREAKY FRIDAY.
