Ever heard of Alan Quartermaine? Didn't think so. Ever heared of Dorian Gray? Didn't think so. How about Mina Harker? Rodney Skinner? No? Nothing? Well then, I'll give you three (or four) that you do know: Captain Nemo, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, and Tom Sawyer. I knew you would recognize THEM. Well, all those people come together to stop a world war in LXG, an interesting, if not a bit unfulfilling, romp into the days of old.

Literary characters from all over history, including all of those listed above and a few more, are brought together to stop the mysterious Phantom from wreaking havock upon the world with his then-high-tech weapons. They are brought together on Nemo's ship The Nautilus to head all over the world, tracking the mystery of the Phantom and trying to prevent him from starting thie first world war. (The movie is set way before WWI)

Okay, so this movie did horribly at the box-office, and the critics didn't like it too much either. Understandably, this movie is far from being great. But don't crucify it for being mediocre at best, give it a chance. It's full of really cool imagery, some sweet action pieces, and Sean Connery acting at his highest level of action movie man.

First off, the characters were really interesting, including Rodney Skinner (The Invisible Man), who really was the coolest of the bunch. Sean Connery also as one cool customer in this piece, acting all bad most of the time. Also, Jason Fleming was really good as Jekyll and his alternate personality, Hyde. Some good make-up work was involved with the creation of the ultra-jucied up Hyde.

Also, ther has been several reports of unrest amongst Connery and the films director, Stephen Norrington. Really, throw these rumors out the door, because it has no affect on he final film. The final film is filled with really coll images, interesting action, and-

Oh you know what? I saw it so long ago I can't even remember anything else. YOu probably won't go see it anyways, so lets just forget this all happened? Let's face it, this was anything but
Extraordinary.
