My KISStory
It’s always been my dream, quest, mission, whatever you may call it, to meet Paul Stanley. To me, the only way to truly show my feelings, and possibly the shortest amount of time in which to do so, is to tell him face-to-face. I’ve tried several times to finally tell him, but each effort hasn’t been my time it seems. My ex-boyfriend, a fellow KISS fan, though not as big a fan as I am, has even tried to help me. His brother was able to have him meet Paul and Gene. He figured it would work for me, but it didn’t. It’s understandable, though. After all, it was the farewell concert to Dayton, Ohio. Even when it was a smaller venue when he was playing the lead in Phantom, I was still not able to meet him.

It was on Peter’s birthday. After the show, a couple of other fans and I went to the actor’s entrance in the back. Of course, Paul had come out that way the other night and went out the front with Peter. It so happens my dad was waiting in the car in the front of the theater. He was about five feet away from him and didn’t even know who he was! I was agonizing over it for months. As the Phantom, Paul amazed me and my mother that night in Toronto. I knew he could do it, but she didn’t. He was in top form. I never thought I could ever be prouder to be a KISS fan, but that very night I was. All the people that passed off the members of KISS as no-talent bums who relied on gimmicks were proved wrong – repeatedly. From that day on, I’ve asserted myself and my love for KISS blatantly in school with no shame. I’ve tried new things with my life; I even took up bass for a little while.
