"I swallowed one!" - Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady

Well, as you can see from the above picture, this story is -uh- interesting, to say the least. It all began with a simple tradition at Yuppie Central - aka the high school I attend. It was customary for the freshman to hold a Renaissance Faire at the end of the year. The first floor was just for us freshmeat, I mean - freshmen. There were costumes, entertainment, and food galore. The only catch, though, was that we had to show up to this shindig in full Renaissance regalia. That was the easiest part - wearing the damned dress. Instead of renting a dress, I made mine. Little did I know that making the dress would lead to this!      I was helping my mother make it and I decided to do the easy part - pinning the pattern to the fabric. Since I am the social butterfly and chatterbox, I never shut up, even with pins in my mouth. One pin went on my tongue and instead of tilting my head downward to get it, I stupidly tilted it back and the pin went down my throat and was caught sideways in the beginning of my esophagus. I walked over to my mom and, in my best English accent I could do, I said, "I swallowed one!" She tilted my head back further to see if she could see the straight pin but that pushed it back and on went the pin in its journey through my digestive system. Lovely, ain't it?      Even with all of that, we finished making the dress. Here is the fruit of our labor.
