Beliefs |

I am considered to be a pagan because I don't follow organized religion. I don't mind this because I don't agree with what most of the mainstream religions teach. I believe in a Creator, an being that is both sexless and a hermaphrodite. A being who is an easily understood paradox. The Creator is all and nothing, I have built my belief system from many different religions, using what feels right to me. I've taken the Wiccan Crede as part of my code of conduct and ethical system. It suits me best and covers a lot of ground while not being burdensome. It makes sense to me. I've taken the idea of reincarnation and the striving to be perfect from the Buddhists, though the Christians have an idea of being perfect - just in one lifetime and not many. It takes a lot to become one with the Creator, and I doubt one lifetime will do it. I don't believe in Heaven or Hell, but I do believe there are places where the "soul" rests between reincarnations. I don't believe the Creator would punish us for all eternity for not meeting their standards as the Christian and Muslim gods do. I've spoken to people who've shed their mortal lives and moved on so, I believe my idea of reincarnation is a correct one. I don't believe we keep coming back to this world however, I believe there are higher planes of existence which aid us in our goal to become one with the Creator, planes that might be like ours and might not. Why do we need to repeat a life we've "passed"? I am a peaceful person who doesn't tolerate prejudice in anyone. I am open minded about people's lifestyles, as long as you don't attempt to press it on me. I'm open minded and tolerant of other's religions, belief is a very personal thing. I also practice what I preach, though I don't do much preaching. I live my life the way I choose, and my belief system works for me. If you wish to have an open, intelligent conversation about what I've said above, you can email me or put a comment on my blog. |
