1997 Cambria Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir |
Tasting Notes: The Cambria Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir is a velvety Pinot with sweet cherry, vibrant raspberry and plum fruit flavors intertwined with notes of clove and smoky oak. Our Notes: Pinot Noir's are wonderful summer and sometimes autumn wines. They are excellent on a warm day for someone who enjoys red wines because they are lighter and a bit fruitier than other red varietals. As the weather begins to cool, they will start going out of vogue, but we will contine to offer some of our favorites for those of you in warmer climates. This Pinot is remarkably good considering the great price it is being offered at (around $15-20.) If you're planning a BBQ any time soon with some friends or family, this is the wine to bring. It's light, fruity, and bit smoky, which is perfect for a red-meat BBQ like ribs. |

1997 Steele Bien Nacido Vineyard Pinot Noir |
Tasting Notes: The 1997 Steele Pinot Noir is very deep in color with high flavor and a pronounced bing cherry nose. This style of wine is of softness, roundness, and lushness. Our Notes: What a wonderful surprise. We tried it at a nice restaurant not too long ago (restaurants aren't usually the best place to try a wine for the first time because they usually have a 200-400% markup, but we were feeling saucy). It was fantastic. The color was darker than the normal Pinot Noir, which tends to be fairly light for a red wine, but the aroma was huge. If you can find this wine, it'll probably be around $25. If you like pinot noir, you have to try this one.. |
