How many times do you hear people say that a call from the “Lotto Man” would not change their life. When he called me it certainly changed mine. I must elaborate; my brother Glyn is the “Lotto Man” in New South Wales, Australia. He gives the good news to people when they win the State Lottery. He phoned to tell me about our Brother Brian (Sandy) who had been searching for us. That good news certainly made a difference to me.
Sandy was just one of the positve things that has happened. I have been most fortunate to find two more half brothers living in Australia. Barry and Phil have been an added bonus. These two have added another interesting possibility to the search for family. They have memories of someone they assumed was me. They told me they always knew there was a sister, but unfortunately I was not that person. If this is true, someone is missing out on being part of a truely interesting and dynamic family.
My life has changed in many ways. Sandy and Barry have helped me see that I am capable of many things. They merely pointed me in the right direction and left me to find my way. The road forward has been paved with wonderful people I have met on the Internet. They have been there to guide and encourage me when I wanted to retreat. With their continued encouragement I have written about my life and have faced all the events that I had denied for many years.
With much soul searching and encouragement ,I went in search of my own children, not knowing how they would react to my intrusion into their lives. They had to be told the truth about the events that happened so many years ago. The Internet has played a major part in me being able to find them. Their reaction to my presence in their lives has been very positive.
Now I have begun a search for our past. I will put the results of this fascinating journey here as time permits. Anyone with any information or comment can contact me by email.
