( C )   PARADISE VS. HELL / HELL – SPIRITUAL PRISON

Scriptures provide other characteristics about hell which clearly differentiates that place from paradise.  The apostle Peter, Jude and Jesus share these insights concerning hell;

19.  By which also he went and preached unto
the spirits in prison;
20.
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.  -  1 Peter 3:19-20

28.  And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to
destroy both soul and body in hell. -  Matt. 10:28

4.  For if God spared not the angels that sinned,
but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5.
And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;  -  2 Peter 2:4-5

6.  And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.  -  Jude 1:6

Here is clearly written, a description of the spiritual prison containing the angels that sinned, ( spirit beings formerly of the angelic host of the Holy God ),  and the ungodly, disobedient people of the old world who died in the flood of Noah.   That is to say, those humans who had their body and soul destroyed in hell and thus leaving their remaining spirit to be imprisoned in hell.  These disobedient spirits all wait in hell, the spiritual prison, for their final judgement of eternal condemnation which is written about in Revelation;

12.  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13.  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and
death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14.
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. -  Rev. 20:12-15

Hell is a spiritual prison which houses disobedient spiritual prisoners.  Those spiritual prisoners being, fallen angels and disobedient spirits of the old and wicked world who died in the flood of Noah and the disobedient spirits of all sinners who have rejected God and Christ since Noah.  All of these wicked spirits in the confines of hell are held in reserve for the final judgement at which time hell will then release those spiritual prisoners to be judged and then cast into the lake of fire.  In contrast, paradise in no manner is described in holy scripture as a place which holds spiritual prisoners in torments only to be delivered up at the time of judgement and then cast into the lake of fire.  Thus, paradise cannot and never has been a compartment nor some designated area in hell.
