----------------------------------------------------------------------- ( G ) PARADISE – ABOVE Hell is the spiritual prison, the place of torments in the flames of hellfire. Hell is the place where the soul and body are destroyed thus leaving the remaining spiritual prisoner to await their final judgement and eternal condemnation. Hell is the place into which wicked, sinful spirits descend. Whereas paradise is the place above which is the way of life ( Prov. 15:24 ). Where one ascends into the place of comfort. That place above being heaven. Hell and paradise are separated by an impassable and fixed great gulf. I again would ask any Christian to provide scripture which irrefutably shows that Abraham’s bosom and paradise were at one time sections or compartements of the damnable region of hell into which the saints of God descended. Scriptures from both Testaments clearly show that hell is the place into which a person descends while paradise is the place into which a person ascends ( Psalms 139:8 ). One is the place of torments in fire while the other is the place of comfort in heaven ( Luke 16:23-25 & 2 Cor. 12:2-4 ). Jesus, Peter and Paul all sufficiently reveal that the soul of Jesus descended into hell. Peter tells the reader that this was for the express purpose of preaching to the disobedient spirits there. But there are no scriptures which write that Jesus descended into paradise or some compartment in hell called Abraham’s bosom. There are no scriptures which reveal that Old Testament saints descended into a hellish compartment called Abraham’s bosom after they died. Simply because this never occurred. Hell is the confinement of spiritual prisoners who have been disobedient towards God and remained unrepentant of their disobedience. However, though Old Testament saints did have their unfortunate times of disobeying God, nevertheless, they lived a life of repentance and thus chose to walk with God until such time as they died. Therefore, there is no such scripture to reveal that saints of God descend into any chamber or compartment of the spiritual prison of hell. There is no scripture which describes the saints of God as being spiritual prisoners in hell. The scriptural evidences in Psalms, Revelation and 2 Corinthians verifies and establishes the direction where paradise is located; 8. If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. - Psalms 139:8 2. I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. 3. And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) 4. How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. - 2 Cor. 12:2-4 7. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. - Rev. 2:7 Paradise is in the third heaven where God dwells. Paradise is the place to which a person ascends. Jesus did not descend into paradise after His death on the cross. Old Testament saints did not descend into some compartment of hell called paradise nor Abraham’s bosom. A person and being cannot descend into paradise when paradise is in the third heaven where God dwells and a place where the tree of life is located. Also, paradise is never described in scripture as being a spiritual prison which holds in reserve disobedient spiritual prisoners. There are no spiritual prisoners in paradise who are awaiting the time of final judgement of eternal condemnation in the lake of fire. There have never been saints of God spiritually imprisoned in the spiritual prison called hell. Moreover, it is the tree of life, not death, which resides in the paradise of God. Further confirming that in no manner could paradise be among the chambers of death ( Prov. 7:27 ) in hell. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
