---------------------------------------------------------------------- ( C ) GOD & JESUS – HOLY & SEPARATE FROM SIN Scriptural evidences also reveal that God and Jesus are one and the same in their Holy nature and separateness from sin; 44. For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 45. For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. - Leviticus 11:44-45 22. By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. 23. And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: 24. But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. 25. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. 26. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; - Hebrews 7:22-26 46. And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47. And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. 48. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. 49. For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. - Luke 1:46-49 33. And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, 34. Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God. - Luke 4:33-34 14. But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; 15. And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. - Acts 3:14-15 There is a belief that when Jesus was a man on earth then He and God were separate beings. However, this was never true. God and Jesus were never separate beings. The writer of Hebrews, when writing about Jesus clearly states that Jesus our high priest is separate from sinners and that Jesus is holy. The only distinction which Jesus has in relation to God the Father is that Jesus was the only part of the divine Godhead who was made into a flesh and blood body, a physical man. Nevertheless, Jesus and God are not and never were separate from each other because both are divinity. Both are inherently holy and undefiled. Therefore, both God and Jesus are separate from sin and sinners but not from one another. The truth of Jesus’ holiness and separation from sinners as written in Hebrews ( Heb. 7:26 ) confirms the words by the prophet Isaiah in which he writes; 2. But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. - Isaiah 59:2 Iniquities cause separation from a Holy God and sins hide Gods’ face from the sinner. Jesus is undefiled and Holy as God is. Therefore, just as there is a separation between sins and a Holy God, so also is Jesus, the Holy One of God, separate from sins and the sinner. Jesus has never been separate from God. But truthfully, both Jesus and God are separate from sins, iniquities and sinners. The traits of inherent holiness and separation from sin as evidenced in scripture further prove that Jesus was God when He was a man on earth. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
