THE SALVATION, LIFE AND FREEDOM OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS 20. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. - 1 John 5:20 25. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? 27. She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. - John 11:25-27 6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. - John 14:6 8. But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. - Romans 10:8-13 With these few verses of scripture, it is plainly revealed that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is eternal life and resurrection life. Therefore, when the sinner believes those truths about Jesus and confesses those truths then we, the sinner, have become born again. We are now saved in Christ Jesus and have obtained the promise of eternal life. 30. And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31. And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. - Acts 16:30-31 15. That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. - John 3:15-18 36. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. - John 3:36 24. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. - John 5:24 Once again the scriptures reveal that in order to pass from death in sins onto eternal life in God, then the sinner must believe on the Son of God, Jesus Christ. What are the things which we must believe about Jesus Christ? We must believe that God sent His Son in order that we could obtain eternal life in Him. We must believe that Jesus is in truth, the Son of God; 15. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. - 1 John 4:15 We must believe that Jesus is the Christ, that is to say that Jesus is the anointed One of God who came to save sinners; 69. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. - John 6:69 20. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. - Matthew 1:20-21 31. But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. - John 20:31 Moreover, we, the sinner, must believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God suffered and died on the cross for our sins and on the third day was resurrected from His grave. The scriptures teach: 3. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4. And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: - 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 7. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. - 1 John 1:7 18. For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the spirit: - 1 Peter 3:18 10. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. - Romans 6:10 5. And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, - Revelation 1:5 ( see also Mark 14:21-24 / Luke 22: 18-20 / 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 / Acts 20:28 ) 26. And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. 27. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28. For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. - Matthew 26:26-28 45. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46. And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: - Luke 24:45-46 The scriptures clearly prove that Jesus Christ, the Son of God came to give and offer up His life by His death on the cross for my sins and your sins. Jesus Christ then arose from His grave on the third day after His burial thereby proving that He is the resurrection and the life because He conquered death. When we believe and confess these truths with our mouths then we have been saved. We have been born-again and now we also will one day be resurrected as Christ was and live eternally with God. If you, the reader have not taken the time to consider, believe and make your own confession of these truths about Jesus, Gods’ Son. I encourage you to do so right now. Simply and in a prayerful attitude make confession to God that you believe in His Son, Jesus Christ. Pray and confess that Jesus came to die for your sins and that He arose again from the dead on the third day. |
