Eve was very unique seeing as she was the mother of us all, she was the first woman in the world, and she's the only woman to not have an earthly mother and father, she was queen of the world, she had special relationships with God and Adam. God had given her everything a woman could possibly want or dream of, His perfect love and guidance, the perfect mate, rule over the whole world with her perfect husband, all the pets she could want (without Adam objecting). Now all of this certainly would have been to her advantage if she would have utilized all of her resources. This mating is a beautiful picture of God's idea of how our pairing, or our choosing a mate (along with the picture of Isaac and Rebekah) was meant to be. He intends for us to live our lives for Him, doing His will, and then He will present us with the mate that He intends us to fulfill His plans for our lives with. He loves us that much! But allowing herself to be decieved by the serpant and allowing him to initiate doubt in her happiness, getting her to doubt God's love and that He had her best intrests in mind when He placed her there. The serpant had her concentrating on the one thing she couldn't have, instead of all that God had given her. She decided to follow the serpant's leading without seeking guidance or thinking of the conse-quences that those actions might have. Once she had sinned by eating the fruit from the Tree Of Life, Eve did what alot of us do, she shared her sin with Adam. They both realized then that they were naked and tried to hide from God. When confronted by God of what she had done she tried to shift the blame and responsibility for her sin to the serpant saying, ' The serpant decieved me and I ate it.' God put us here to share His creation in His image because He loves us and desires to have daily fellowship with us. We share this responsibility to God with our husbands, and if we immerse ourselves into the Word of God, the things of God, and spend time time with Him each day, we will become sensitive of things that He does and doesn't intend to be part of our lives. 'To those who by persistence in doing good and seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life' { Romans 2:7}, 'I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.' {Psalms 119: 15,16} When we sin, we often try to hide that sin, even though we know that our God sees all and knows all. Eve had shared her sin with Adam and then tried to hide it. God knows we have a tendency to sin, even though He wills us not to, He is not a God who forces Himself upon us. We must desire to do His will and follow His guidance. And when we do sin God desires us to confess that sin and earnestly ask for forgiveness so that we don't build any walls with-in our relationship with Him. ' "Ever since the time of your forefathers you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,"says the Lord Almighty.' {Malachi 3:7} There is so much that we have available to us through God, He desires us to seek Him for our fulfillment of all our needs, rich rela-tionships with Him, our husbands, children, friends and church members. We must look to Him to fill these places in our hearts and the emptiness we once felt will be gone forever! 'Praise the Lord, O my soul; and forget not all His benefits-- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things,' {Psalms 103:1-5} |
