The L.A. Lakers signed free agent G Isaac Fontaine on August 28th. The 6'4" Fontaine averaged 21.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 22 games with the La Crosse Bobcats of the Continental Basketball Association last season. Fontaine also played for the Connecticut Pride of the CBA. |
Irving Thomas, a player on the 1990-91 L.A. Lakers who went to the NBA Finals, was hired August 28th as a scout for the team. Thomas replaces Ronnie Lester, who was promoted to assistant general manager. Thomas will scout primarily on the East Coast and in the Midwest. |
