Universal Interactive, Inc., a studio of Vivendi Universal Games, announced today that its multi- million-selling video game character, Spyro the Dragon™, is scheduled for release on Nintendo GameCube™.
In the new adventure, Ripto returns with a plan to steal the Dragonflies of the Dragon Realms. To combat his foes, Spyro's existing set of abilities will be enhanced with innovative features such as electric, ice and bubble breath. Equipped with his newly acquired skills, amazing new vehicles, and help from new and old friends, Spyro must find a way to return the Dragonflies and restore order to the Dragon Realm.
THQ ships Tetris
THQ Inc. today announced the release of "Tetris Worlds(TM)" for Nintendo GameCube, the next generation of Tetris(R) -- one of the most popular video game franchises ever created. "Tetris Worlds" features all of the addictive block-dropping mayhem Tetris is known for, along with six variations of gameplay that take place in six unique worlds. "Tetris Worlds" for Nintendo GameCube is now available at retail outlets nationwide.

Sonic Ships Million Plus
SEGA Corporation today announced that Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for Nintendo GameCube and Sonic Advance for Game Boy Advance have each shipped one million units worldwide respectively since their initial retail debuts beginning December 2001 in Japan, February 2002 in the U.S. and March 2002 in Europe. Building upon the global success of the Sonic The Hedgehog series, the company also announced three new Sonic The Hedgehog titles including Sonic Mega Collection and a new Sonic Adventure game for Nintendo GameCube and Sonic Advance 2 for Game Boy Advance.

Smash Brothers Campaign
Not content with the promotion of its Game Boy Advance, Nintendo will also be promoting Gamecube beat ‘em up, Super Smash Bros. Melee this summer in the UK.
Along with TV advertisements, a mass of cinema and print ads will run staring some of the game’s protagonists, such as Mario, Donkey Kong and Zelda. Also, throughout the month of July, a thirty second TV advert for Super Smash Bros. Melee will appear during the commercial break of Channel 4’s Big Brother eviction night each Friday. Print mags such as Empire and Mixmag will be joining in the virtual fighting fun.
Nintendo will also install Gamecube consoles in a selection of major UCI cinemas during the release of Men in Black 2, as part of the official sponsor of the Sci-fi Shorts competition.
