Album (2004)

Love Songs (2006)
With the split up of New Kids On
The Block ended an era that would bring a series of boybands (such as
Backstreet Boyz, Take That,N'Sync and many others).
Since then, Jordan's post-New Kids talent has resulted in a self-titled
album released in 1999 which
contained ten
unreleased songs plus a remix.
What happens the first time you listen to it?
You would probably scream:
"Oh My God, is this an ex-New Kids?".
Jordan Knight has put a great deal of work
into it (which would explain the never-ending wait for its release).
Such album reflected fully his very own
musical tastes into a piece of art for which the wait was
long but worth it. All songs
are written and/or (co)
produced by Jordan himself with the guest
appareance (Don't Run) in producing from former
band co-member, Donnie Wahlberg.
What happened in those five years in which he
seamed to have dusappeared from the face of the earth? Well, long-time
bachelor Jordan has become a father and
moved in with girl-friend Evelyn Melendez until their split in 2002.
His son, called Dante Jordan jr,
was born on Wednesday August 25, 1999, at 4:11pm and weighed 7lbs 4oz.
Jordan and Evelyn Melendez got married in 2004.
Quoting an interview in which he talks about Evelyn: "She was always
like a little sister to me and then one year I came off tour and she's
grown up and I started to look at her a little different." And about his
baby boy "I cried when I first saw my baby. It was an emotional
overload. I was like, 'My God. I can't believe it. My son!'"
His first album is a mixture of jazz, R&B and
soul, through romantic carillon melodies like in an old horses'
merrry-to-go and disco music.
Jordan's auto-ironic turn into a sexy toy, as the song "Give it to you"
hints:
You say it's been too long
Since you had some
You say I turn you on
Like a fire that's burning inside
You think that I'm the one
You see in your dreams
I know what you mean yeah
It's creepin' around in your head
Me holding you down in my bed
You don't have to say a word
I'm convinced you want this.
It might initially shock hard-core fans who were used to seeing him and
the rest of his co-members as a bunch of clean-cut guys, but the man has
REAL charitsma. Last but not least, really worth
checking is Jordan's dedication "For those who have been there all these
years ... I say Thank You for your dedication. To the new fans I say
Welcome!".
But, what after his album? Jordan went silent
until 2002, when he made a come-back with a single, Tender Love, made up
of two songs: Tender Love and Right Here Waiting, which are both
remakes.
From the picture on the cover of this single you
can see that he has gained
a little weight but didn't loose any of his sensuality.
