YOU CAN ENJOY A LOT FROM YOUR AUTO

Some of my family's most enjoyable days have been, and still are, the days that we spent driving through West Virginia. Unlike driving though the "flatlands," you are not likely to nod off from boredom while driving though West Virinia hills especially if you get off the super highways. There is something new around every corner. Whether you are driving amid the russet foliage of the late fall that you see in this picture, the full greenery of summer, the sometimes starkley beautiful vistas of winter, or among the white of the sarvis and dogwood and the violet-pink of the redbud in the spring, there is a brand new view hiding behind every curve in the mounain road. Come, get off the main drag, and drive our "country roads."

After leaving the mountain home and pausing a short time at Pickens, we drove down the mountain on a forrest road until we came to Holly River State Park. At midday, we ate a very good dinner (country folks eat supper in the evening) at a very reasonable price in this beautiful dining room.
