Te Whanau Reo Rua o Owairaka E nga mana, e nga reo, e nga iwi o nga hau e wha, e te tini me te mano tena koutou katoa. He mihi mahana, he mihi whanui tenei ki a koutou, nga matua o a tatou tamariki, mokopuna. Anei ra he taonga whakahirahira, te taonga e tangi nei a kui ma a koro ma. Tangohia hei rama mo a tatou tamariki mokopuna o te ao hou. Greetings We welcome you all, from whichever place or people you come. Our Maori heritage is a gift that bestows inner strength and expands all possibilities, as the elders know. Seize the opportunity to hand on the flame that will light your yound one's path brightly through this new world of ours. Our aim as a whanau is to give our tamariki the skills and abilities to stand strong as young Maori. We teach them: to grow in their ability to speak and understand Te Reo Maori to follow and understand tikanga Maori Our whanau classes are a stand-alone bi-lingual unit within Owairaka Primary School. This means our tamariki get the special support of the Whanau as well as the facilities of a Primary School.
Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, Engari takimano, no aku tupuna. My greatness comes not from me alone but from many others, from my ancestors.
Kia Mataara - Be watchful - don't let opportunity pass you by!
