| Kevin returned later on that evening with Brian. Howie, Melody, & Jen didn’t show up to see him. Kevin’s only guess was that they were still angry with him, but he knew the grudge wouldn’t go on much longer. Howie & Jen both like to keep their friends & they both knew that he didn’t know about the engagement. Kevin decided that he would go up & apologize to them for what he said that morning. He knocked on the door & Melody answered. “HI, Melody, are your mom & Howie here?” “Yeah, hold on. HOWIE!!!” she yelled. “What?” came the reply. “Kevin wants to talk to you.” Howie came to the door. He didn’t look too happy to Kevin. The two men stepped outside the suite. “What do you want?” came Howie’s unhappy voice. “I wanted to apologize to you & Jen for what I said earlier. I shouldn’t have said those things, but I was angry. I jumped to conclusions that I shouldn’t have jumped to & I’m sorry. I know sorry won’t take back the words I said, but I don’t want to lose you or Jen as friends. You two are wonderful people & good friends of mine & I know that my anger towards you was wrong because that’s not what friends do.” Howie was silent for a few moments taking in what Kevin had said. Howie didn’t know what to say to him. His friendship seemed to be in jeopardy, but Howie didn’t know what to say to Kevin. |
