Chapter 3
When I woke up it was getting dark. The reporter still laid on my chest. I wondered where the day had gone. I gently lifted her off of me & placed her head on a shirt that I balled up as pillow. I got up to look around. In the hut I found a lot of luggage & some fruit. There were a couple of pillows that were soaked & blankets that were also wet & not useful for the time being. I walked down to the beach & stood at the water’s edge. I looked out at the water. It was so calm. I missed being at home with my family & with my friends. They will probably be worried about me when they find out. I heard someone come up behind me. I turned around to see who it was. It was the reporter.

“Hi” I said to her.
“Hi, I know we got of to a rocky start, but I wanted to say thank you because I stayed up all night last night building the hut. I didn’t want to sleep until you carried me back to it.”
“Your welcome. I know you know who I am, but I’d like to know what your name is.”
“Oh, I’m Hannah & yes I know who you are, Howie”
“I guess we might as well get to know each other since we will probably be here for a while.”
“Yeah, I guess we might as well.”

We walked back to the hut & sat down. She handed me some fruit.

“It looks like this is all there is to eat on the entire Island. At least for now. I guess we could try fishing or hunting too.” Hannah said.
“Yeah, your right. We can eat fruit until we can figure out some way to find other food.”
“You know its getting late, maybe we should get some wood for a fire.”
“Well let’s go before it gets to late.”

They both got up & went searching for some lose wood for a fire.
