Chapter 4
When we both returned from finding wood, we attempted to start a fire. After three tries we got a small fire going. I decided to take a walk along the beach. The sun was setting & I sat down to watch. I heard footsteps come up from behind me. Hannah was walking along the beach too. She saw me, smiled, & then waved. I invited her to come watch the sunset with me. She walked over to me & sat down. We sat in silence watching the sun fall from the sky. When it was almost gone we both started to go back to the shelter. Fruit is all we had for dinner. Hannah decided to break the silence.

“Do you think they will ever find us?”
“I don’t know. All we can do is pray & hope that someone will find us.”
“You’re right.”

We both decided we would get some sleep & then try to sort out some problems that we had. I couldn’t sleep because I was thinking about everything.
My body shivered when the wind came through the tent. It started to rain outside, but we were protected from it because the winds had died down. I sat up & crawled to the edge of the hut to watch the rain fall to the ground. It soothed me for a while. The temperature dropped & I started to shiver until I felt a dried blanket placed on my shoulder & Hannah sat next to me. I pulled her close under the blanket & we started to talk.

“Couldn’t sleep.”
“Yeah, I guess I’ve been thinking too hard & it effects me sometimes. What about you?”
“I wake up to the slightest movement around me. When you sat up I woke up.”
“Sorry, It started to rain & watching it sooths me a lot.”
”That’s understandable.”

We spent the rest of the night talking & we fell asleep as the rain stopped.
