| “I can try, Sarah, but you know I have a hard time going places because I will get recognized.” “Then just do something with her. She hasn’t seen you for a few months & she needs to not worry about me so she can have some fun.” “OK, I’ll try.” I gently began to shake Sunny awake. She sat up, took one look at me, squealed in delight, & jumped into my arms. I spun her around & gave her a hug. “If I’d known you were going to be this excited to see me I would have left a few days ago.” I said to her. She blushed & gave me a shy smile. My daughter is very quiet but she loves the fact that I had allowed her to stay with her mother while she was still alive. “Hey, why don’t you go get dressed & maybe we could go do something.” Her smile faded as she sat on the bed & told me she wanted to stay with her mother. “Sunny,” Sarah said. “I want you to do something with your father instead of staying in here with me. You don’t have to leave the house if you don’t want to.” Sunny smiled sweetly & nodded her head as she took off down the hall to her room. She returned fully dressed & grabbed my hand as she dragged me down the steps. We walked into a large den. I was in complete shock when we walked in. |
