Pegasus 2003 |
The Pegasus committee had their meeting to finalise the launch of the 2003 league at Q's on Saturday 12th April The league will be adopting the system which it used in the original 1995 launch. Each week there will be a competition held at a different club, players will get a handicap after they have played a minimum of 5 different players and will then qualify for two of the various finals which will be held during the year. Players who attain a 2 or 3 handicap will be able to play in the selection trials where players will be selected to go to the various WPA( World Pool Association) events around the world, "all expences paid" The Pegasus exclusive watch was unveiled at the meeting and was an instant success. Each of the committee were presented with their watches for being committee members. The Pegasus watch is currently valued at R380.00 and 4 of the collectors watches will be given away at each tournament. The top 3 players each week and one lucky draw will each recieve one. The following events have been confirmed as events that the 9 ball association will be sending players to... 1) WPA opens World Championship - Cardiff Wales - 12 to 20 July 2) WPA junior World Championships - date and venue to be confirmed 3) WPA Ladies World Championships - date and venue to be confirmed 4) WPA World Tour - Tokyo Japan - 7 to 9 Nov 5) WPA All Stars Tournament Taiwan - 13 to 16 Nov. David Anderson and Anton made the squad for Cardiff plus David won the trip to Germany to play 9 ball in the team event. The players will be stopping over in Dubai for a fully paid stop over warm up to the World Championships in Cardiff.
