about

Ja, or Lia or Li-chan is a twenty year old bespectacled and shy person who thinks life can be quite a bummer sometimes. Well, not life. Just Reality.

She speaks English, French and Mandarin (but can't read it to her great despair), and has a passion for Japanese animation and mangas.

Despite speculations, she is neither senile nor does she bite. Mad, on the other hand, is a altogether another matter. What else? Oh. And she has the bad habit of tripping over things and has frequent bouts of memory loses. Figures.

story

One Piece - by

Story about a bunch of pirates and their adventures

quest

Each character has different motivations, but one of the main driving force is to find the 'One Piece' the ultimate pirate treasure hidden by legendary (and now dead by execution ^^;;) pirate, Gold D. Rogers

friends

lots of friends n foes, but the main (every growing) crew consists of Luffy the somewhat simple-minded but determined and loyal boy-captain with an elastic body courtesy of a certain fruit, Zorro the cool powerful ex-pirate head hunter second-in-command, Nami the intelligent and slightly mercenary navigator, Usop the long-nosed lying and mostly cowardly ^^;; shooter, Sandy every smoking suave lady's man cook, BB the princess and her duck-like animal, and finally ? the blue-nosed reindeer turned human nice, the ship's doctor.

Thinks

It's a fun manga and meant to be totally non-serious. Lots of funny action, and a weird assortment of characters (and enemies!) with equally weird names, looks and weapons. A good read if one wants to take one's mind off, or de-stress ^.^

02.10.2002 - pebbled thoughts -

 Eve has linked the winamp skin page to her site. For that, she has my humblest thanks ^.^

As for the I'll animation, I don't have much info about it, only that it's going to be out under a series of OVAs in two parts I think, first one coming out end of December 2002 and the second part in Febuary 2003. Once again I deplore the fact that I can't read Japanese since the I'll Character book (which I happen to have) tells more about it inside ^^;;

Luckily I still have Mangajima to rely on. Anybody wanting to have more info and able to read Japanese is most welcome to go on the original site to check it out. It's at http://www.s-manga.net/smanga/ill-ckbc. You can also go to I'll/CKBC Side B to go and check out some anime sketches. I've put down two below - of the main protagonists Akane and Hitonari, but go there if you want to see others like Kanemoto or Minefuji ^.^

Both images and I'll are copyrights of Asada, Shueisha and whoever else owns them ^^;; If you wanna see more, go to the site above *grins*

so then ... cute lil' Akane first ....

And then we have of course the cool Hitonari ...

sugoi ne? I think so too ^^;;

Wasn't feeling so well these days. Had a slight fever and then the next day, was down with a major headache. Maybe it's fatigue. Thank God for my strong constitution and my rapid recovery ^.^

Im glad the weekend's here so I can just laze around and do nothing, like the lazy bug that I am *grins*

Yesterday I got really worried about my grandma's condition. She went to see the doctor because of her swollen feet and her constantly itchy skin. Turns out she also has a very high blood pressure, which the doctor said was bad, because - touch wood - she might - touch wood - have a stroke. So he gave her some medicine to take to try and bring it down. Her health's already weak, and she can barely walk anymore, but I  pray that God will watch over her and strengthen her fragile health. *hugs grandma* Both my grandparent's health have been causing us worries this year, but thankfully my grandad's diabetes seem to be quite stable for now ^.^

There's not much else to say (my life isn't that much of a fascinating thing - even to myself ;p) so I'll just put in one of my favorite inspirational quotes, which never fails to bring me a smile, or a ray of hope when anything doesn't go as smoothly or straightforwardly as I would in my life ^.^

"Let nothing disturb you

 Nothing frighten you

 All things are passing

 God is unchanging

 Patience gains all

 Nothing is lacking to those who have God

 God alone is sufficient".

01.10.2002 - caffeine moment -

This morning at work, I nearly dozed off while watching my computer screen. Now, this wouldn't be such a bad thing if not for the fact that my supervisor is actually at the desk *behind* me and watching my every mouvement now and there (I can actually *hear* any rustles she makes).  it took me a good cd from Emil Chau to wake me up. well any good cd would have sufficed as music wakes me up but it helps that I like Emil Chau a lot ^.^

As i almost slumbered into the sweet land we call 'dreams' I came to a sudden realisation. Well, two to be very precise.

One. I am *not* a morning person. Or at least, not until 9.00am in the morning. I hate waking up without getting my full 8 hours sleep. Because if I don't, I turn into a grouchy, antisocial little beast. Hey, this might not seem to be extraordinary thing, but i always thought I was a morning person ;p

Two. I need coffee. I crave coffee. I *must* have coffee in order for the engine to work (in the case i i wake up in my grouchy sleeping-headed cocoon mood) in the mornings.

To have or not to have is *not* the question. It's a definite _too have_.  And well this morning, I was desperatly in the need of a caffeine moment.

On the other hand, if I get my full hours sleep (and you'll see a happy Jacintha if you do), I'll probably be craving for another sort of drink. Maybe milk. Or fruit juice. Or even Chinese Green Tea.

30.09.2002

Ce-chan's finally updated her winamp skin page yay! ^.^ I simply luv the lines found in her second Train skin (from the manga Black Cat), they're so ... linear ^^;; (oh duh what am intelligent remark).

I just finished watching ep. 12 of Witch Hunter Robin. Cool. I think it's re-starting to get more interesting ^^;; The pple in there have cool clothes too, dark-ish and cool-ish *winks*

I have this bizarre urge to go and learn wayang. In case you don't know, wayang is another word for chinese opera. Yup, those plays were the actors have heavy white and pink makeup and sing in those high pitched voices ^^;;

Don't ask me why, I just watched one of those yesterday with my sis and as I was looking at all their hand gestures and stuff I was thinking. Wow, how cool is that? ^^;; It's a pity there such a lack of interest in these old cultural things these days. There were not that many people watching it, and most were old people the age of my grandparents ^^;; *grins* maybe if someone does a hit manga on wayang the young generation will find a renewed interest in it. Hey, it worked for Go didn't it? *grins*

'course since they don't have wayang in Japan it would be a bit hard but ... how about a manga on kabuki? ^.^

02.09.2002

Phew! Managed to find time to finally do some writing in my blog <sweatdrops>. Good news is I found a temp job so that means I'm not idling and spending my days away just plain procrastining. Bad news is, the pay's really low and the hours are from 8.30am to 8.00pm, so by the time I reach home, the only thing I want to do is eat, take a shower and sleep.

Which is what I've been doing in any case ^^;;

Which is also why I've been less then faithful in all my emails and stuff ^^;; <feels guilty for the x number of time>

Well, let's get moving coz it time for a new layout again! Yay!

This time, featuring two cool pirates from the crew in the manga 'One Piece'. Ain't Zorro just plain awesome? I mean, the guy fights with *three* swords? I wished I could do the same! And they have cool girls inside too! Nami and BB-chan are 'nifty, not to mention our dear cook Sanji. Hmm ... only Usop kinda gets on my nerves. I mean seriously >.<

I can't remember where I took the picture from, or I'd have credited it somewhere on the page ^^;; Sorry for all the faults in the picture, I was *really* tired and just wanted to finish this layout as fast as possible. Hence the *coughs* simplicity and stuff. Gomen. Laziness doesn't excuse me, but there you have it ^^;;

Oooh ... and I've just discovered a new cool anime called "Witch Hunter Robin", so far I've only watched two episodes of it that I downloaded off mIRC but I really like them. It's sort of like Hellsing only this time, it's a secret organization which hunts witches (hence the title of the main protagonist), except that the first episode hooks you one pretty fast (while after the first episode of Hellsing I was left indifferent and only like it after reading two volumes of the manga).

And the OST kicks ass. I simply *adore* both opening and ending songs ^.^

I stopped downloading from mIRC at the end of Easter after I came back from holidays, and only started re-leeching of mIRC again this week. Wow. I won't even *try* to continue the animes I had started like HikaGo or Shaman King of HxH coz I'm so behind! I'm only continuing Inuyasha coz my cousin had up till episode 78 and was kind enough to lend them to me. I finished viewing them a while ago and man, Inu-chan is just so cool. I even find Naraku less annoying then I used to. A bit. He serves his purpose of being the man scheming and cunningly intelligent bad-guy aptly well.

Damn. Inu-chan and Sess were *so* close to killing him! Dang ;p

So in conclusion I'm downloading a new batch of animes right now, essentially Inuyasha (well, the only one not new), Witch Hunter Robin (I wanna see episode 3!) and Samurai Deeper Kyo (the anime seems nice but I think I prefer the manga's storyline).
