Here's Our Mom's Story...

Our mom is cool, and she loves dogs. Here's a little bit about her...

"Chicago" is her favorite group of all time...

If you love dogs, you're in the right place! I think dogs are the coolest creatures that walk the earth! I've never met a dog I didn't like! (Although I have met a few who didn't exactly like me!)

My name is Jerri, also known as dogmom1, and my dogs are two of the BEST in Northern Lower Michigan! They're also computer literate, and decided they needed a web page of their own. And, since my dogs get anything and everything they want, here's the finished product of their latest request.

(And yeah, yeah, yeah, I know the graphic is a "dog-dad," but I couldn't find a "dog-mom!")

Anyway, I'm a three-time Cocker Spaniel "mom," and Cockers are, by far, the most precious dogs on the face of the earth (not that I'm partial!) I am also a first-time owner of an "ALL-AMERICAN-MUTT," which is a very unique experience, to say the least. She was a stray, who came into our hearts and lives, and is here to stay!

Some of my hobbies include traveling (with my dogs), boating (with my dogs, of course), landscaping (my dogs love to help), photography (portraits of my dogs), collecting Beanie Babies (I have all of the dogs, including ELEVEN Spunkys (the Cocker, of course!)...and about 100 others) and reading (usually...about dogs!) Well, I guess DOGS are at the top of my list!

I belong to a five-year-old buff Cocker Spaniel named Lady Hillary Hattaras (Lady, to her friends!), and Smilin' Maxie, the Wonder Dog (Maxie, to her friends), who is a 1-year-old Golden Retriever/German Shepherd/Collie mix (that's an ALL-AMERICAN MUTT, if I've ever seen one!)

Both dogs are the love of my life; they make my heart sing. I love being in the "company of dogs." I am happiest when I'm spending time with my two fur-kids.

"The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too." -- Samuel Butler

And, during 1999, please remember to give generously to your local animal shelter. If you can't give your time, please donate some food, toys, or treats. Just because they're shelter animals, it doesn't mean that they don't deserve the best they can get! (I, for one, can't work in a shelter; if I did, I'd end up owning 100 dogs! I'm a big softie when it comes to big, brown eyes!)

Anyway, stop by your local grocery store, and buy a couple extra bags of high-quality dog food, and take them to the shelter in your neighborhood. Stop by to visit the shelter staff. Ask them what else they may need...they have a rough-enough job 12 months a year! Maybe you can supply other types of assistance....
