What is FUD?

FUD |f?d| |f?d|
noun
Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt, usually evoked intentionally in order to put a competitor at a disadvantage : [as adj. ] the FUD factor.

Peter uses FUD in many arguments to put down Canon's competition before the relative product is released. This is systematic behaviour from Peter. It occurs prior to the release of every Nikon DSLR and serves to make the buying public uncertain about the quality and features of the upcoming Nikon product. He also (to a lesser extent) does the same to other products from Olympus, Kodak etc. Check these out:

What he said What really happened
Here, and in several other posts, he says that now that Sony are in the DSLR market, they won't sell their sensors to Nikon any more. Or, if they do then Sony will get them first. The Nikon D200 was announced 5 months later, with an exclusive new Sony sensor. A further 6 months later, Sony announced the A100, which uses a cheaper 2-channel version of the D200 sensor.

Even 18 months after it's release, the Sony sensor in the Nikon D2x still has not appeared in a Sony or any other camera.

Clearly, Sony's long-standing relationship with Nikon will continue into the future. Sorry Peter.

In this post he says that the D70 will not have user-selectable focus modes (like the crippled DReb does) The D70 did indeed have user-selectable focus modes.
In this post, he implies that Nikon is likely to dump the F-Mount due to Full Frame problems Nikon haven't dumped the F-Mount, and likely never will. It works just fine with Full Frame DSLRs.

In fact, it's the Canon mount that is having problems dealing with Full Frame.

In this post he implies that the D70 won't have Flash Exposure Compensation (because the DReb doesn't). There are also several other posts where he claims it will undoubtedly be as crippled as the DReb. It does have FEC, and unlike the DReb is feature packed.
Here he lays in a little FUD, implying that the D2x won't be ready for pro use etc etc D2x exceeded all expectations, with no problems.
Pre-release D2x bashing continues here and here and here where he implies that the sensor won't be any good and will be noisy etc etc. Again, D2x sensor proved to be spectacular
Here he uses a regular 'line', saying that Nikon is slow and will not update the D70 until at least November 2005. In fact, the D70 was updated in March 2005
