On this page I'll provide resources for refuting the selective-truths and lies that are spruked by the Phan/T3/McPeak threesome throughout the internet forum sites.
Timings
One of Peter's biggest arguments is that Nikon is '2 years behind' Canon. While this may be 'true' in some areas, the reverse is true in others. This is typical of any industry, where one company leads in some fields and trails in others. Peter invariably ignores any area where Canon trails (and there are plenty) while promoting those in which it leads it's competitors. (Principally Nikon although Olympus, Sigma and Konica-Milolta also suffer his bias).

For a whole 2 years Canon shooters didn't have a Pro digital SLR at all! By the time Canon finally released the 1D, Nikon had moved on with the D1x and D1h already available. |

While the 1Ds certainly eclipsed the D1x for resolution, Canon shooters had to wait another 2 years for it. All this time Nikon shooters had the 6MP D1x, with it's clever interpolation mode to 10MP. |

Still widely unavailable, the Canon wireless transmitter is already 17 months behind the Nikon transmitter. It needs a separate battery pack, doesn't support PTP, and at $1,500 costs almost 3 times the price of Nikon's. And, it's UGLY! |

Canon have finally started using distance-to-subject information to try to match Nikon's superior flash exposure system. It only took 8 years, ETTL-II still doesn't match Nikon for performance, plus it doesn't work unless you buy new lenses that provide distance information! |

Finally Canon announced a wide angle lens for their DSLRs. Unfortunately, it only works on the DReb 350xt and 20D. All those owners of the D30, D60 and 10D STILL have no ultra-wide, and never will have. This lens also won't work on any 1D-series DSLRs or Canon film SLRs. |

Canon used to have a 200/1.8, but it's long since discontinued and hasn't been replaced. It did not have IS/VR stabilization. |

Wow! Only 4 years after Nikon, Canon have finally got an Li-Ion battery in the 1 series, although not in the 1Ds yet. |

Canon's 1D may have out-resolved the D1h, but it's 21 frame JPEG buffer meant only 2.5 seconds worth of shooting before the buffer filled! It wasn't until the 1DII arrived that Canon pros had a decent buffer. |
Pricing
Another of Peter's biggest lies is that Nikon's products are more expensive than the Canon equivalents. Sometimes they are, sometimes they're not. Here is a non-exhaustive list of products where the Nikon is cheaper. Unless specified, prices are retail at B&H.
