Issues in Sports, Literature And African Affairs
Dear  Unsettled,

God gave men free will. As well he gave us talents skills and abilities that we can use for good or evil.

When people make choices, they normally do so for their own benefit without thought as to the well being of others. That is the cause of most of the evil in the world. The
civil war in Liberia killed more people than the tsunami in Asia. Yet there are people who would still kill more people if that is viewed as a means of attaining their aims.

You might say that that still does not explain natural disasters or those that insurance policies call "acts of God". I must agree on that point.
Yet there is a pupose or at least a circle for everything.
Hurricanes do not happen all the  time.
There is a season during which we should take precaution. For seismic
activity, there are regions of known instability for which certain saferguards should be taken.

And perhaps most  important there are survivors. Their stories strenghten the hearts of everyone of us.Because of them, we  no longer  see our minor bothers to be  the greatest of the world's woes.

Dear  Unsettled,
You know, there are so many things all of us don't know. For instance, you cannot tell what outfit I  or the vast majority of  the rest of the world's people am wearing now.

That lack of knowledge would continue throughout
and is a fact in the life oif us all.
However there are things that we cannot bear to live without knowing. For me, it is waking up in the morning without being sure that someone up there
really cares for me.
You see, my
mother does care for me, but would it be the same if I were not her son? I don't think so. That is why we all are so particular about our parents because we feel that they are obligated to us in a peculiar way.
I cannot dodge the fact that God's love for me is different. I  am grateful to Christianity for making me to come in contact with God's love in this manner.

You see, Christianity tells of a
God who was willing to make a sacrifice for me at a time when I had no value, no purpose , no existence. That is the greatest gift I can ever receive. I don't know if you can receive a better one.  You can be sure that Jesus cares. Your life when given to him is certain to be come more fulfilling and yes, more challenging.

May the
Holy Spirit be your Counsellor as you carry out the most important duty you will ever have-Your life.

Question of the moment
Is it right to continue to be a Christian when there are so many things I don't understand?
