10. This is a NO FEED room. We do not care if it is blood or souls, you will not feed here. There are NO exceptions with this. 11. The servants (meaning any name is lower case or listed as such on pulldowns or in their tags) work hard and are just as much members here as any others. -Respect them please, they serve FOOD and DRINK only. Anything else is by consent of the servant and within room rules. -No servant will be harmed verbally or physically. -No servant will be captured from here or brought here by force. -All will ask permission of any servant before posting them a private message. The exceptions to this rule are the King and Queen. 12. No profanity or racial slurs. Its all a matter of respect. 13. Use the proper greetings for titles in the room and respect O/one's title or position for the times. 14. No major role-plays can be started by anyone unless approved by either of the Pheylands or Chancellor. This room has freeform role-play, not based on a book, but simply upon the imagination, but try to make it believable and reasonable, also strive to make it historically plausible. 15. You must be 18 to enter this Realm; these are not only our rules, but also the rules of our host. Alter Realm also has guidelines and rules; it would be a good idea to read them over. Be respectful of our Host and follow their guidelines. Their rules will always overrule any Pembrokeshire rules. No Kill Rules ((Some of these rules have been revised. Please look farther down this page to see these revisions.)) Everyone that resides in Pheyland Keep may or may not carry weapons aside from protection or r/p purposes and are to be considered non-combatants. Leave them alone. This is NOT negotiable in any way unless it is an approved r/p and the person knows of what may happen. This rule ALSO applies to ALL guests of Pheyland Keep for the duration of their visit. Magic, Powers and Non Human Abilities Rules We are not saying magically inclined persons and/or creatures and those with enhanced abilities are not welcome in our home, but we are only looking out for the best interest of the room. We wish an enjoyable experience for all who visit/live in our home so we have chosen to not have magic and such in our home to preserve its historical and medieval purposes. Gods and other immortals will be considered as natural and normal humans and mortals as all magical beings. It matters not what type of creature you are, this holds true. If you do not agree with us, then please respect our rules and guidelines and follow them accordingly by refraining from using magic in any form. If as a guest, and you insist on using these powers, magic, and beyond human abilities without permission, then keep in mind there are other places to role play besides our home and we respectfully suggest you go there. Limited Capture Rules Pheyland Keep is a Limited Capture Zone; it is possible for someone to be removed from this land against their will as long as the r/p is approved before such action is taken and ALL parties involved are aware of it and approve at the time of the incident. No means no. However, kidnapping is against the law, and anyone taking someone against their will, unless ordered by the room leaders and those enabled to arrest troublemakers, shall be tracked, arrested and tried. NOTE: NPC servants and members who wish it are still considered non-participants to any capture r/p’s as per the old rules before revision. No Raid Rules In line with Pheyland Keep's new policies NO raids are to be attempted here. Don't even bother asking. Any raid r/p's will be considered null and void without question. No Feed As mentioned elsewhere. It matters not if you feed on blood or souls, this is a no feed room and your posts doing so are null and void. There is no exception to this rule. No Forced Collar Any posts forcing a collar on anyone in Pheyland Keep are to be considered null and void. Those who serve others will only do so willingly in this room. New Rule Additions as of 05/04/03 Public Displays of Affection What guests, friends, and fellow members see when they first enter Pheyland Keep reflects on how they view the home as a whole from that moment on. In the medieval times Pheyland Keeo is set in there just was only so much of these activities. We're not prudish, just historically realistic. Proper behavior in the public areas of the home between two people that are courting, married, or simply just together as a couple should never exceed what was proper for the times. If you wouldn't or shouldn't do something in front of your mother or in church then its a given its NOT proper for the public areas of Pheyland Keep. What is done in private or PM is just that, private. We're not innocent and unknowing. There were those that ran around and had their little flings and nightly rendevous in others' rooms but it was kept strictly private and secret and usually wasn't public knowledge except as rumor or suspicion. Women were shunned, looked down upon, or sometimes even worse if found doing such things and caught. Men could lose their standing in Court or in some cases of extremes their very titles and such. This was not taken lightly back then and we will not take it any lighter now. We strive to be as historical as we can be and this is just another way of achieving this. If you have to ask if its proper then you probably already know the answer. If we wish to grow as a home and entice new members that wish to role play in the historical times we offer then we can't let them see us in such a light. Time Ratio For purposes of role play and such we use a r/t-v/t long term time ratio in dealing with how things progress and such within Pheyland Keep. Even though this has been official since day one of the room opening its time we put it in writing to clear up any confusion and past and future questions and requests. Our ratio is as follows and is without change for any reason: 1 r/t day=4 v/t days 1 r/t week=4 v/t weeks and so on. We use the 1 to 4 ratio in any measure of time that exceeds 24 hours. One hour is still simply that...one hour and so forth. Courtship/Betrothal(Engagement)/Marriage/Relationships/PM Role Play We have decided to join other homes and finally address these issues. When two people meet and fall in love that is a wonderful thing to behold and should be rejoiced. All we ask as a home is that when it progresses to obvious higher levels that some rules be met to help ensure the union lasts and the home stays intact and unchanged. Courtship can be started at anytime within a new relationship and can last as long as each couple wishes. When Engagement or as known in medieval times, Betrothal, begins we ask that is lasts for NO LESS than one r/t month from when the proposal is asked and accepted. If its true love it will surely last for this amount of time. Besides, it takes time to plan a wedding anyways. If a couple elopes before the one r/t month is up and is married in another home and then returns their marriage will not be acknowledged in Pheyland Keep. There's no end run around this rule. We have nothing against weddings in other homes, just not to be done to try and get around our rules. When a union/marriage ends its never a happy time for anyone involved or the home as a whole. We know things happen between two people and not all things can last no matter how hard we try or wish them to. We really have no set rule, time, or guideline for when one is able to seek out a new Love and move on from the broken union. Love happens when it happens but we do strongly suggest that One makes it look reasonably plausible and believable at the very least. Even in modern times you don't usually get divorced on Monday, engaged on Wednesday, and standing back at the altar the next Saturday with someone new. It almost never happened that way back in medieval times. Pheyland Keep is not Las Vegas, a cruise ship, or even a lonely hearts club. We are a historically medieval role playing room first and foremost. If all one wishes is a relationship or to be attached to another no matter the cost, this is not the room for it. Sitting for hours on end pining for a Love that is absent does nothing for you or the room members or guests that sit and watch it happen. There's absolutely nothing wrong with missing a loved one and we don't condemn it being done...just don't milk it or sit in the home for simply that reason alone. We have the main room plus the subrooms for Pheyland Keep. Surely there is some sort of r/p you can do while you await your Love to return to you even if all alone in the room. Others do it...its not so hard. Then once your Love returns then by all means sneak away to the gardens or take a romantic horse ride through the countryside or as the King, get drug to Pembroke so the Queen can spend his money. Not all PM r/p is two people swapping body fluids, making love, cybering, or whatever you choose to call it. Some couples PM r/p just so they don't disturb the happenings and other r/p of the home and such or simply wish that romantic walk through the gardens or horse ride through the countryside are more of an intimate and private nature or hopefully because they are following the new public display of affection rule. But never forget even if in PM r/p to greet a visitor or guest or make them feel comfortable and at home within Pheyland Keep. We did the same for you before you were made a member so all we ask is you give the same consideration to the next person. Never greet and then think your obligations are over. What happens next with a guest or visitor is more important and reflects more on our home than the initial greeting. THESE RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANYTIME AS PER THE WISHES OF THE ROOM LEADERS. IF YOU ARE A FREQUENT GUEST TO PHEYLAND KEEP PLEASE BE SURE TO STAY UPDATED ON THE UPDATE PAGE OF THIS SITE FOR CHANGES IN RULES AND/OR THIS SITE. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU FORGET TO DO SO. IF YOU SEE OR NOTICE AN AREA OF CONDUCT OR SUCH NOT COVERED IN THESE RULES PLEASE SEND YOUR IDEAS OR VIEWS TO Pheyland Keep's E-MAIL. |

~Kill Rules Revisions~ | |||||||||||||||||||||
Pheyland Keep is a Safe Haven. However, if the King or Queen deems death as necessary, they will give permission for a duel to the death; or order someone put to death. This means you cannot come into Pheyland Keep and simply attack someone. Killing someone in the room, without permission of the room leadership is murder. This also means that if you are attacked, or witness an attack upon an innocent party, you are able to defend and aid with any means necessary (Death as a result of defense shall not be considered murder.) Murderers will be tracked, arrested and tried. This is an offence punishable by whatever means the King and Queen and their Chief Justice decides. Since killing anyone is obviously a major r/p, all kills must be witnessed by at least two members or scripted and submitted via e-mail to be approved by room leadership to be valid. And please be realistic and logical in the reasons for the killing of another. One doesn't waltz into a room and start killing without good cause. Members of Pheyland Keep need not follow this rule since this is their home and would more than likely be protecting it, another member, a protected guest, or themselves. Just as in capturing, if there is an attack of a member by a nonmember there must be approval of the r/p by ALL parties involved and not necessarily by room leadership unless the member being attacked wishes it. Assassins need not reveal their employers but their mark contract parchment must be shown to room leadership to be valid in our home before attacking their mark. The assassin must also have home tags of an active home. All other killing r/p rules apply to assassin attacks. Any killings aimed only at taking over Pheyland Keep/AR or any of its subrooms are AUTOMATICALLY considered null and void without question. Don't even bother or waste your time. Take it somewhere that cares. Pheyland Keep also has a one post kill rule that only can be ordered by the King or Queen themselves to deal with someone that this action would be warranted against. This is not a blind kill rule, which means the person must be in the sight or their whereabouts fully known to the person ordering such. Only a member or designated npc of the home may carry out such an order. The Main Hall and various areas of the Keep have npc guards obviously about and they will and can be utilized if need be to protect a member, guest, or visitor of the Keep. The royal family have their own escorts/guards that will not allow strangers within reasonable range of them. Such was how it was and still is to this day with members of royalty. If this bothers you then simply do not visit or expect to just be able to easily take the life of another. Pheyland Keep’s combat rules will apply in all cases where combat does occur be it practice sparring or true combat between persons. And of course as per the rules, magic does not apply, as it does not exist in our room. We ask that any sparring be kept to the main room where a sparring/training academy has been placed in the pulldowns. This is so regular r/p in the subroom is not disrupted. Pheyland Keep sparring rules apply. In extreme cases, in the absence of the King and Queen, the Royal Chancellor, Royal Ambassador, Chief Justice, Head Constable and the Captain of the Guard have full authority to administer the final judgment upon troublemakers, up to and including the punishment of death. Also these two people have the authority if any of the room membership is in danger to administer a killing blow to the attacker to save said member without retribution on them or their positions. Guests and visitors of Pheyland Keep are safe if they ask to be and will come under no harm by outside forces unless they are fleeing righteous prosecution by lands friendly to Pembrokeshire. No killing/attack r/p will be approved if a guest or visitor seeks safety within our walls otherwise. This does not apply if they are causing disorder or problems and are asked to be seen to by members of the home by home leadership. NOTE: Since rules as these are new to our home and this is their first implementation we welcome any input and comments no matter good or bad. Please send such to Pheyland Keep's e-mail or post to our Message Boards. This offer extends to guests, visitors, and members. |
