Rightly divide and obey the Word of Truth
2 Timothy 2:14-19
“Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to _________ about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers.  Be __________ to present yourself ___________ to God, a ____________ who does not need to be ashamed, rightly ____________ the word of __________.  But shun __________ and ________ babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.  And their __________ will spread like __________.  Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort, who have ____________ concerning the ___________, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some.  Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal:  ‘The Lord _________ who are His,’ and ‘Let everyone who name the name of Christ __________ from ____________.’ ”

(Note it is important what we feed ourselves.  We are either feeding ourselves on God’s Word or the lies of Satan.  It is very important that we shun books, TV programs, false religious teachings, and magazines that have profane or idle messages.  These will ruin our spiritual lives like cancer.)

The Bible is called “The Word of Christ”

Colossians 3:16
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you ___________ in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in ___________ and _____________ and _____________ songs, ____________ with _________ in your hearts to the Lord.”

Psalm 119:160
“The __________________ of Your Word is ___________, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures _____________.”

Do you believe that the Bible is God’s inspired Word, the only rule of faith and practice for the Christian? _______________ Do you covenant (by the grace of God) to spend time regularly in prayer and in Bible Study?________________

Do you see that God’s Bible is His love letter to you personally and His form of communication to speak to your heart and soul? _________________ Will you respond to His communication today by your commitment above?____________

About the Holy Scriptures
The Holy Scriptures, Old and New Testaments, are the written Word of God, given by divine inspiration through holy men of God who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.  In this Word, God has committed to man the knowledge necessary for salvation.  The Holy Scriptures are the infallible revelation of His will.  They are the standard of character, the test of experience, the authoritative revealer of doctrines, and the trustworthy record of God’s acts in history.

For further study see
2 Peter 1:19-21;  2 Timothy 3:16,17;  Psalm 119:105;  Proverbs 30:5,6;  Isaiah 8:20;  John 17:17;  1 Thessalonians 2:13;  Hebrews 4:12

Your own devotional plan!

The books of {the Gospel according to John,} {the 150 Psalms of the poet David,} and {Genesis the book of beginnings} are excellent places to begin (though you are in no way limited to these) your own daily devotions.   The goal is not to hastily read through them but take time to meditate and ponder over them in a systematic and logical way.  Take to time to understand what the principals are and how you can apply them to your life.  Let God speak to you personally through His word.  His Word is His personal love letter to you.  Put aside preconceived ideas and seek to determine what the Lord is saying.  Always study the context (the surrounding verses) and be careful not to twist the Scripture to suit your own liking.  A dictionary and Concordance are very helpful study tools. The Bible is holy and it is very important to always pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and to study with a humble reverence.  May God richly bless you as you get to know God through His rich treasure field –
His Bible.
