Kelsey with her new Friends |
Kelsey enjoying the good life |
being a proper Lady |
KELSEY The story begins... I recieved Kelsey as a birthday present on my 18th birthday. I had to do some serious persuasion to convince my mom that I needed a dog. I had decided to give up on boys and that a dog would fit the bill. True Story!!! I found Kelsey in the news paper in 1988. When my Mom finally said okay... it was up to Tehachapi (30 minutes out of town) to buy her. She was one year old when we took her home. Little did we know that there was more to meet the eye... She didn't look like a poodle at all. She had been chained up in the front yard. This house did not have a fence around it. So...about a month and half later Kelsey became a mother to three adorable puppies. They did not look anything like poodles... She quickly won mine and my dad's heart, but Mom was going to take some work... She slept with me at the foot of my bed until I would roll over and bump her on to the floor... She was high spirited and lively. She would take off and defender her yard at any cost. Even if the intruder was 100lbs. more that she was. She loved to chase the cats. She never caught one of course... but it was great fun watching her proudly prance back from a cat chase... Kelsey and my Dad had a wonderful friendship. My Dad was a smoker at that time and would only smoke outside. So Kelsey and he would take a smoke break together frequently. My Dad and Mom would let her lick the empty icecream bowl and eat popcorn with them while I was at work. My Mom did eventually warm up to Kelsey... Years later... I decided that boys were okay again and got married (1997). Kelsey came with me. Dave insisted that if Maddy couldn't come inside Kelsey couldn't either... so Kelsey was an outside dog with Maddy. I tried to convinse Dave that Maddy sheds and Kelsey didn't... It didn't fly.... When Anna was born my attention was not on dogs. I was concern about the lack of attention that our Dogs were getting... and GrandmaGraff graciously agreed to provide a new home for her. Moving home with Grandma Graff was definitly a step up for Kelsey. (2001) Kelsey loved to run and jump like a deer. It was funny to see. She was a wonderful pet, but I am so grateful that Grandma Graff opened up her home for her to come live in. I appreciate your kindness to our little Kel Kel. Grandma called her Kel Kel. Her AKC registered name was Kelly Ann 1987 to 2003 |

The Spirit Of Love There are souls who touch our life if only for a moment. Like an angel arriving just in time. You see their goodness shinning from within. They are truly gentle loving spirits, with love for all mankind. They give freely expecting nothing in return, for this alone brings them joy. To see someone smile and laugh even for a little while. Some can see what others can't because they too have been touched sometime in their live's by this loving gentle spirit. The spirit of love. ~ Candy Fort ~ |
IF CHRIST HAD A LITTLE DOG I wonder if Christ had a little black dog All curly and wooly like mine; With two silky ears, and a nose round and wet, and eyes brown and tender that shine. I'm afraid that He hadn't, because I have read How he prayed in the garden alone, For all of his friends and disciples had fled, Even Peter, the one called a 'stone'. And oh, I am sure that that little black dog With a heart so tender and warm, Would never have left Him to suffer alone, But, creeping right under His arm, Would have licked those dear fingers in agony clasped, And counting all favours but loss, When they took Him away, would have trotted behind And followed Him quite to the cross. ~ Author unknown ~ |
A DOG FOR JESUS (Where dogs go when they die) I wish someone had given Jesus a dog. As loyal and loving as mine. To sleep by His manger and gaze in His eyes And adore Him for being divine. As our Lord grew to manhood His faithful dog, Would have followed Him all through the day. While He preached to the crowds and made the sick well And knelt in the garden to pray. It is sad to remember that Christ went away. To face death alone and apart. With no tender dog following close behind, To comfort its Master's Heart. And when Jesus rose on that Easter morn, How happy He would have been, As His dog kissed His hand and barked it's delight, For The One who died for all men. Well, the Lord has a dog now, I just sent Him mine, The old pal so dear to me. And I smile through my tears on this first day alone, Knowing they're in eternity. Day after day, the whole day through, Wherever my road inclined, Four feet said, "Wait, I'm coming with you!" And trotted along behind. ~ Rudyard Kipling ~ |
