The second question is simpler. Without Edwards or Wesley Clark, Kerry was going nowhere in Kentucky, a state President Bush carried by 15 percentage points. Now Kentucky at least has a chance of making the list of states where the Massachusetts senator may compete for electoral votes. |
| I can relate to Elizabeth Edwards Sunday, July 11, 2004 By Merlene Davis For some reason, I didn't notice Elizabeth Edwards during her husband's bid for the Democratic presidential nomination earlier this year. But when Sen. John Edwards was picked to be the vice presidential candidate on the Democratic ticket this fall, she popped up on my radar screen. Elizabeth and I could be soul mates. She is 55, plump, older than her husband and the mother of young kids late in life. I am 53, plump, older than my husband and the mother of young kids late in life. |
