PentaDome
In 2001  I wanted to feel the pain of steel conduit geodesic dome crowd.
The camp needed a shade structure that could erect by one person  in less than  30 minutes.  I would like to thank SquareWave for the penta concept and HomeBase for going  under and selling me tons  of cheap conduit.
How do you build one ?

                    T-10  24' Diameter

We had about 30 people in this dome during the 5 PM sandstorms each day.

In 1999 Polydomes needed a large gathering space.  A 30' in diameter dome was built using
Spacelounge's Plans.   It took 3 T-10 Parachutes to cover 240 feet of pipe. By cutting the diameter down to 24 feet,  only one T-10 Parachute and 180 feet of pipe were needed.
How do you build the smaller 24' T-10 Dome ?

I would like to thank Spacelounge for the 30 foot dome plans, the Playa for forcing me to redesign it into two smaller T-10 domes,  and my neighbors for letting me keep domes up for entire summers so I could watch them  fail over time.

Future Projects

I would like to build a mylar dome someday.  The mylar would keep out the Playa sun and mess with your head when you turned on a light and saw 40 different reflections recursing on each other.    If someone would like to give me a 6' by 200' roll of gold or silver heavy duty mylar, it would be one heck of a gallery piece.

I am also working on the designs for a rolling puppy pile dome and dome cover for the trike.

I would also like to reconstruct a transegrety dome I built in the mid-Seventyies. This was build out of  waste 3' x 5' sheets of 1/8 inch PVC plastic.  The same method could be used to make a dome out of fed-ex boxes for the "Castaway Camp".
