BENEATH THE ICE

When you find the sun
Tell me where I can go for
So long now I’ve been too cold
Deep inside ruffled curtains of frost
Just below the sharp edge of insanity
Banging at the ice to break free
My face under tinted glass with mouth gasping for breath
Words form white clouds and percolate more snow
Warmth has left me
When you find the sun
Tell me where I can go for
So long now I’ve been so cold
Hands pressed to the surface
Over which the feet of skaters dance
Merrily chasing figure eights

Most Of Us Are Sad, The Eagles

shadows are not enough
the breeze of your shadow
touches my hair
passing by
drawing too near
the breath of the darkness
taunts
and whispers
goodbye
my love goodbye
the coolness of your shadow
brings the blood
of my body to a slow
crawl then halt
what need have I
for that rich hot boil
without you
an echo of your shadow
isn't enough for my heart

I've been undone time and again by you
unlaced, unwrapped and untied
left out in the open so damn many times
until I can't help but finger the frayed edges of my sanity
while wondering
what's left now except for
the end of unraveling...

Carried Away On Spirals Of Smoke...

5.18.2002
Tonight...Well then…sad and mellow…a peach slowly seeping, losing it’s fluid…shrinking to fit against the flat of your hand instead of the fullness of two cupped palms. A day in winter with the sunset rose and pink and violet…yet so cold the tears freeze at the corner of the eye and never spread their warmth down the side of the cheek. Lemons so yellow and warm perched on the countertop…waiting patiently for a gentle hand to squeeze them into chilled glasses heaped with sugar…but there is no sugar. A heart aches with a subtle chill…an unusual frost that coats the sapling buds in mid-May. The pain is that of a pealing bell in February, cold and silver and sharp. A striking of the hour that no one else can hear…or sense. The realization of emptiness slaps at the face..hot and hard and painful like a sunburn stolen from the white hot sands off the windy ocean beach...

"PELVIC THRUST GOT ME TALKING"...The Story of Maybelle

" THE PACEMAKER READINGS LOOKED LIKE A LINE OF CAN CAN DANCERS"...quoted the ECG tech at local hospital

Elvis IS alive! The rock and roll legend was spotted at 2:25 p.m. at a local nursing home today. He was sporting a lovely white polyester pant suit that was screaming with golden glitter and jewels. The day began like any other and the residents were all seated at the elegant dining room hall after the Monday noon special of meatloaf. Some were fininshing a desert of jello jigglers while others were visiting when...THE KING WALKED IN. It was total bedpan...errr...bedlam after that! The legend began singing and after a few grinds and pelvic thrusts Maybelle, a former catatonic, piped up "You rock my world baby"! Elvis took it all in stride and just smiled that sexy little smile, and while the nurses rushed up to Maybelle in surprise he slipped out the side door with a whipered "Thank you very much"
