Pilot - New Beginnings
Powerful millionaire Douglas Wheeler was shot dead before leaving
town on a business trip. His wife Julia was in bed with
stable-hand Guy Richardson when she received the news. Douglas'
sister Lauren Erikson flew into town with her fiancé Mark
Fielding for the will-reading. Julia and the Wheeler lawyer David
with whom she was having an affair, attempted to switch the will
so that everything would go to her and the children Jake and
Jessica. However Douglas' brother Michael found out and switched
it with the original will so that everything went to Lauren.
Lauren told Mark that something was going on between Cassie and
Guy. Jessica chastised Julia for her cold attitude towards Lauren.
Julia vowed to David that she would do anything to get the company
back.
2 - Battle Lines
Julia told David to hire a spy and put him in the Wheeler
Corporation so that they could prove Lauren was incompetent.
Michael told Lauren about Julia switching the wills and how he
amended the situation. David introduce Julia to their spy Nick
Remick. Jessica confided in David's son Tommy about her father's
death and the pair went on a date. Cassie seduced Guy. Jake
welcomed Nick into the company. Julia nearly caught Guy and Cassie
in bed together. Lauren realized that Nick was a spy and told him
to leave as well as firing Jake for his part in the scheme.
Michael warned Lauren that she was starting a war.
3 - Changing Partners
Jake informed Lauren that Julia had left for Los Angeles to
dig up information on her past. David and Julia planned to meet
with Mark's publisher. David's wife Stephanie turned up at
Lauren's office and began raving about him having an affair with
Julia. After plunging a knife into Lauren's desk she left. Lauren
phoned David's office and found out from his secretary Cynthia
that he was in Los Angeles. Lauren realized that David and Julia
were having an affair. Julia met with Mark's publisher Keith
Cannell and bribed him into firing Mark's editor. Lauren told Mark
about Stephanie's visit. A storm caused power failures throughout
the valley. Julia returned to the mansion and met with a
prostitute David had found in LA named Morgan Janssen. She offered
Morgan $300 000 to become Mark's editor and seduce him. Morgan
agreed. Guy told Cassie to take Jake to Las Vegas and marry him in
a quickie ceremony before he could arrange a prenuptial agreement.
Jake turned up at Guy's apartment to give him his paycheck and
found him in bed with Cassie. He went to a nearby bar and
collapsed. After Morgan left, Julia realized she was not alone in
the house and was confronted by a deranged Stephanie.
4 - Something Old, Something New
Stephanie attacked Julia with a knife and terrorized her in a game
of cat and mouse at the mansion. Guy and Cassie went to a bar and
found Jake drunk and unconscious. Guy persuaded Cassie to take
Jake to Vegas on the private jet and marry him. Tommy and Jessica realized
they had feelings for each other but did not tell each other about
them. They were nearly involved in a car crash during the storm.
Morgan turned up at a restaurant in San Francisco and asked for a
meeting with Mark. Lauren left the pair and headed back to the
mansion. Lauren arrived to find Stephanie attempting to strangle
Julia and saved her sister-in-law's life. Tommy arrived with
Jessica and took Stephanie home. Lauren told Julia not to press
charges. The next morning, Lauren found that Morgan had stayed at
the mansion and seemed annoyed with Mark. Cassie returned with
Jake and announced to the family that they were married,
disgusting Julia. Mark spied on Morgan taking a shower and she
used the opportunity to seduce him. However he refused because of
his relationship with Lauren. As the episode drew to a close,
Jake's body was found floating in the pool with Cassie by his
side.
5 - The Cartel
Michael saved Jake's life and he was rushed to hospital with
no serious injuries but Dr Philbin told Cassie he would be in a
wheelchair for a short period. Cassie and Julia argued over
responsibility for Jake's accident. Julia told Morgan to seduce
Mark immediately. Michael took Lauren to New York to investigate a
cartel Douglas was involved with named The Delta Group. Lauren was
shot at in the street. David bribed the private detective that
Stephanie hired to make her look paranoid. Morgan seduced Mark.
Lauren awoke to find an intruder in her hotel room.
6 - Threats, Lies and Videotape
The intruder pulled a knife on Lauren but Michael chased him
out of the hotel room. Then he found a badge and realized that he
was a Cartel hitman. Mark told Morgan that their sleeping together
was a mistake because he loved Lauren but she blackmailed him with
a videotape of their encounter. Cassie brought Jake home from the
hospital in a wheelchair and Dr Philbin told them not to have
sexual relations. Cassie and Guy had a secret meeting in the
stables and admitted their love for one another. Stephanie caught
Tommy and Jessica in a clinch and had an argument with Jessica.
When Tommy did not defend her, Jessica left in tears. Julia
visited David and told him to have Douglas declared mentally
incompetent. Lauren and Michael returned and confronted Julia
about the Delta Group but she denied all knowledge. After an
appeal from Julia, Lauren agreed to take Jake back at the Wheeler
Corporation. Jake became depressed and vowed revenge on Cassie.
David and Stephanie had a violent argument over Julia which
re-opened old wounds about Angela Mitchell. Nick Remick's dead
body was found in San Francisco and Michael told Lauren it was a
sign from the Cartel.
7 - Reliance
Mark worried that Morgan would show Lauren the tape of their
lovemaking. Guy visited the graves of Arthur and Rose Garrett and
vowed revenge for their deaths. Julia warned Jake to be careful in
his plan to get rid of Lauren. Jessica forgave Tommy over his lack
of action in her confrontation with Stephanie. At the restaurant,
they bumped into David and Julia. Julia assured a suspicious
Jessica that she was not sleeping with David. Lauren questioned
Mark about his recent behavior. Michael almost caught Cassie and
Guy in bed. Cassie was left alone in the apartment when Guy was
forced to go back to the estate. She answered a mysterious phone
call on Guy's cell phone. Jake disguised himself as Lauren's
personal assistant and called Austin Morell, an important business
contact to cancel the deal between him and the Wheeler
Corporation. Lauren was slammed by the board over the loss but
Jake fixed the situation and announced that he was to take over
the Morell account. Lauren told Michael that she had been tricked.
Julia sensed that Morgan had feelings for Mark. Jessica was
attacked after leaving Tommy's house.

- All in the Family
Jessica broke down to Lauren and confessed that she had
been raped. Michael visited Tommy to ask if he raped Jessica and
attacked him. David threw him out of the house for the suggestion.
Tommy vowed to Stephanie that he would find Jessica’s rapist. As
the family rallied round Jessica’s side, Cassie blasted Jake for
not getting involved. Julia banned Jessica from meeting Tommy but
Lauren defied her and drove Jessica to see him.
9 - Supply and Demand
Jessica's mood began to brighten. Michael commended Lauren on
helping Jessica through her rape but the conversation soon turned
sour when Michael mentioned Isabelle. Mark had an angry
confrontation with Morgan at her new apartment over the videotape
of their lovemaking. Julia's police connection told her that they
pulled Jessica's rapist in. However he killed himself in his cell.
Julia broke the news to Jessica who felt guilty for being
relieved. Jake was contacted by the Delta Group who claimed that
Douglas owed them three million dollars. Jake agreed to send it to
them but arranged another meeting to get more information. Lauren
accompanied Jessica to a support group meeting. Whilst hiding
Tommy's Christmas present, David found Stephanie's journal and
discovered that she had been adopted.
10 - Blue Review
Jake met with a Delta Group representative and offered him an
extra three million dollars to dig into Guy's past. Robert and
Leslie arrived in San Francisco to spend Christmas with David and
Stephanie. Lauren slammed Jake for getting involved with the Delta
Group and reminded him about the murders. To get revenge, Jake
offered Morgan a job as his personal assistant and she accepted.
Julia taunted Cassie about Morgan's new job and in a fit of
jealousy, Cassie began to trash Morgan's bedroom. Guy arrived and
after finding the video camera that Morgan used to trap Mark, he
set it up in Julia's bedroom to record her next encounter with
David. They sent the videotape to Stephanie but Tommy intercepted
it and confronted his father who quelled his anger with lies.
Tommy destroyed the tape as Cassie overheard and decided to warn
Guy. Morgan collapsed in Jake's office. David forced Robert and
Leslie into giving him the name of Stephanie's real parents, Leo
and Maureen Fielding.
11 - New Opportunities
David told Julia about Stephanie's adoption but she shot back
with some shocking news. Maureen was mentally unstable and
responsible for killing Leo possibly explaining Stephanie's mental
state. Lauren found Morgan in the office and rushed her to
hospital. Cassie told Guy that Stephanie did not receive the tape
so he drove to her house and delivered another copy. It was
intercepted by Leslie who put it under the Christmas tree. The
doctor told Morgan she was pregnant and she confessed all to Mark.
He accused her of lying because they used protection. Leslie
angered Stephanie by informing her that she and Robert would be
returning to Boston straight after Christmas. As the Wheeler
family gathered for Christmas Day, Jake warned Julia that he was
setting a trap for Lauren. While the Elliott family celebrated,
Stephanie watched the videotape of David and Julia in bed.
12 - Revelations
Jessica thanks Lauren for helping her get over the rape and
assured her aunt that she was well on the road to recovery. Lauren
confessed to Jessica that she had been raped by her mother's lover
when she was 15. Jessica encouraged Lauren to call Isabelle.
Stephanie confronted David about the videotape after Robert and
Leslie left but he told her he had ended his affair with Julia.
Lauren fell into Jake's trap and overheard a phone conversation
between him and Julia revealing that Morgan was pregnant with
Mark's child. John Erikson, an actor, learned in Los Angeles that
his ex-wife Lauren was worth millions. Lauren violently confronted
Morgan and told her she was welcome to Mark. Stephanie began
making plans for Julia's murder. Julia paid Morgan for her
services. However after confessing that she was in love with Mark,
Morgan decided to blackmail her former employer. Guy and Jessica
helped Lauren pack Mark's belongings and after a minor scuffle
with Guy, Mark accepted that he had been thrown out of the
mansion. Morgan agreed to let Mark move in with her. David turned
up at Morgan's apartment and told Mark that he was Stephanie's
brother. At the Wheeler New Years party, Lauren made Julia jealous
by flirting with Guy. She was stunned however when John arrived
from LA.
13 - Bringing up the Past
Michael warned Lauren away from John. Julia made John confess
that he was only interested in Lauren's money. Jessica had a
nightmare about her rape ordeal. Mark told Morgan he was
considering going back to LA. Under Guy's instructions, Cassie met
Stephanie in San Francisco and told her that David was still
sleeping with Julia. John took Lauren to dinner and told her he
still loved her. Mark revealed to an ecstatic Stephanie that he
was her brother. Julia made David call Morgan's former pimp Darren
Kelly in LA. Lauren and John made love. As Julia seduced David,
Stephanie bought a gun.
14 - Warped Justice
Julia was horrified when she was sent a pig's heart at the
mansion and Michael warned her to call the police. John
impulsively proposed to Lauren and she accepted. Cassie was
shocked to learn that she was pregnant but knew the father could
by either Jake or Guy. Julia and David met with Judge Robert
Ellison but he refused to declare Douglas mentally incompetent.
Michael had blackmailed him into his decision. Tommy argued with
Stephanie when she continued to disapprove of his relationship
with Jessica. Michael annoyed Lauren by warning her about John so
she snapped about his relationship with Julia. Julia gave Morgan
her blackmail money and Morgan demanded reassurance that Julia
would help keep Lauren away from Mark. Cassie told an ecstatic
Jake that she was pregnant. Lauren and John and Jake and Cassie
told the family their news. An intruder broke into Morgan's
apartment cutting and cut the lights.
15 - Weddings and Other Disasters
Morgan was run down by an unseen assailant after an intruder
broke into her apartment. Julia implicated Lauren in Morgan's
attempted murder when Lieutenant Brandon Arnold arrived at the
mansion. Lauren took Jessica's advice and called Isabelle in
London but she refused to come to the wedding, disapproving of her
daughter's relationship with John Erikson. David argued with
Stephanie after she tried to stop Tommy from seeing Jessica and
demanded a divorce. Stephanie turned up at Morgan's apartment and
asked Mark to help her get David back. He refused and abandoned
his sister when he received news of Morgan's condition. Mark was
angry when Morgan told the police that she thought Lauren was
responsible for her accident. Stephanie burnt all of David's
belongings and Tommy told Jessica that they should take a break
because of the effect their relationship was having on his mother.
Morgan was terrified when her former pimp Darren Kelly paid her a
visit at the hospital and threatened to kill her. As the family
gathered for the wedding, Cassie told Guy that she was pregnant.
Lauren was arrested for Morgan's attempted murder.
16 - Closure
Lauren was released when Morgan's dead body was found in the
San Francisco Bay. She had been stabbed and had her throat cut.
David attacked Stephanie when he found out about her recent
behavior and walked out on her demanding a divorce. Julia
attempted to taunt John into stealing Lauren's money. Lauren was
trapped in an elevator with Mark at the Wheeler corporation and he
kissed her. She warned him to stay away from her. Julia planted a
note that Lauren found and made her think that Mark killed Morgan.
Jessica slammed Jake for his treatment of Cassie but he walked out
of the office after receiving a call from the Delta Group.
Stephanie picked up a man named Riley Hudson at a bar and he took
her back to his apartment. Cassie followed Guy to the cemetery and
found a note proving Guy's vendetta against the Wheeler family.
Jake met a woman named Rikki Simmons who told him all about Guy's
past. Stephanie changed her mind about sleeping with Riley and he
became violent. She knocked him unconscious and left. Lauren went
to Morgan's apartment to try and find Mark but found herself held
at gunpoint by a mystery assailant.
17 - Culprit
Guy received anonymously sent pictures of Arthur and Roses'
gravestones. Julia warned Jake that he needed to be more
responsible now that Cassie was pregnant with his child. Morgan's
murder appeared to be Darren Kelly, her former pimp and he pulled
a baseball bat on Lauren. Mark arrived at the apartment with
Michael and after a scuffle, Lauren shot Darren who admitted that
the Delta Group ordered the hit on Morgan. Jessica began to dwell
on memories of the rape and went to another support meeting. Riley
found Stephanie's name and address when he regained consciousness
in his apartment. Julia warned Michael not to investigate the
Delta Group but would not state why. Riley arrived at Stephanie's
house and she drugged his drink. Julia made sure John was tempted
when he found Lauren's bank statements. An angry Cassie confronted
Guy about the gravestones and accused him of using her. He denied
it and told her the whole story about his background. Stephanie
led a delirious Riley up onto the balcony and threatened to push
him over the edge unless he begged for mercy. She eventually
relented and sent him home warning him not to come near her again.
Mark booked a one way ticket to Los Angeles.
18 - Extortion
Mark visited David in an attempt to mend his rift with
Stephanie before leaving town. However things turned awry when
David told a stunned Mark that Julia had paid Morgan to seduce
him. An explosion ripped through the Wheeler offices caused by a
bomb in the elevator shaft planted by the Delta Group. Stephanie
was angry when Mark revealed his reasons for going back to Los
Angeles and vowed revenge against Julia. Cassie confessed to Guy
that she hoped Jake had been killed in the explosion. Tommy and
Jessica were reconciled. Stephanie visited David and refused his
divorce petition. She also made threats against him and Julia. The
Delta Group contacted Lauren and forced her to pay them five
million dollars to prevent another explosion. She conceded but
discovered that Julia had been paying them money from the Wheeler
foundation. Jake warned Guy to stay away from Cassie.
19 - Rise of the Titans
Isabelle returned to the valley for the wedding. Tommy was
disturbed to discover that Stephanie had stopped taking her
medication and began ranting about revenge. Guy and Julia were
both shocked when Isabelle arrived at the mansion causing
upheaval. Jake told Cassie he knew about her affair with Guy
Richardson and offered her $1 million to leave town when the baby
was born. A disgusted Cassie refused the offer. Jessica encouraged
Isabelle to discuss the rape with Lauren. Tommy called Mark in Los
Angeles and asked him to come back to San Francisco to help
Stephanie. Isabelle confronted Lauren about the rape and confessed
to murdering Ian Sanderson and burying his body on the grounds of
the estate. After overhearing the conversation, Guy found the
body. At John and Lauren's rehearsal dinner, Jake made a scene by
announcing to the family that Guy is Isabelle's son. Isabelle
visited Martin's gravestone and called him a monster. Jake paid
the Delta Group for the information about Guy and the head was
discovered to be Julia Wheeler. She was also revealed as Douglas'
murderer. David called Julia and told her that Judge Stanley
declared Douglas mentally incompetent at the time he died. The
Wheeler Corporation would be Julia's within a matter of days. On
the morning of the wedding, Stephanie took out her gun and
prepared to murder Julia.
20 - Shotgun Wedding (Finale)
Lauren and John arrived at the church on the morning of their
wedding day. Tommy panicked when he saw Stephanie leaving the
house with a gun and discovered that she was heading to the
mansion. Jessica slammed Jake for his revelations at the rehearsal
dinner but he cut her short when he noticed Guy's presence in the
stables. Stephanie hallucinated about Angela as she drove
recklessly to the mansion. Julia told Lauren and Isabelle that she
now had control of the Wheeler Corporation thanks to David's legal
maneuvers. Isabelle vowed revenge. David discovered that Julia was
involved with the Delta Group when Darren called her and begged
her to help him escape from jail. Tommy called Jessica and warned
her that Stephanie was heading to the mansion but Jessica was
horrified to discover that Stephanie was inside the house. Guy and
Jake had a violent fight in the stables and Guy fell off the
stable platform. Jake left him for dead and headed to the wedding
in San Francisco. Mark returned and decided to head to the church
with Tommy to cut Stephanie off. Stephanie and Jessica struggled
but Stephanie forced her to drive to the wedding at gunpoint.
Stephanie took Jessica to the gallery of the church and shot at
Julia, accidentally hitting Lauren instead. After watching
Stephanie set fire to the church, Julia rescued her daughter but
was forced to drive away leaving the church in flames. As the
guests began to escape, Cassie was horrified to see an explosion
come from the back of the church. Tommy, Mark and the police were
in quick pursuit as Stephanie drove through San Francisco.
However, events took a dangerous turn when they watched Stephanie
drive her car off a pier, into the water below...
