There isn't much of a story behind this image.  Our group of students was waiting outside of the main Cathedral in San Cristobal, the side of which houses a number of Jesuits.  We were supposed to meet with one of them who was going to take us to a Dominican who worked hand in glove with the guy who got the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 for helping to negotiate a truce between the Zapatistas and the Mexican government - I'm blanking out on his name right now.  Anyways, our signals had gotten crossed so we were waiting for him there and he was somewhere else waiting for us.  We eventually caught up with him and had a great discussion about the church, the people in Chiapas, and the role of violence and nonviolence in social change.  However, this photo was taken while we sat waiting for him.  We often had a periods of ten or fifteen minutes where we would wait outside this church (it was in the center of San Cristobal and thus a very good place for meeting up with people).  During these times, we'd talk with the children selling "chicle" and the bracelets "tres por cinqo" - three for five pesos.  Because I know no Spanish, I would take pictures (yielding this shot), watch the others, or do yo-yo tricks for the kids and then get them to try and work a yo-yo (some could do it).
