I'd like an idea for a name for this photo - I don't like "inside a church", but I don't remember the name of the church - can anyone (especially anyone who was there) help me with this?
This was one of the many beautiful churches that I visited in San Cristobal.  There was a cool old looking church about every three blocks - almost as many as in Chicago!  To the left of this image, right about where the Jacob's Ladder is pointing, there are three people praying in the indigenous Mayan style (see Chamula Church description).  I didn't want to get a picture of them, so I intentionally metered for the lighter upper portion of the church to get the effect of the beam of light coming in and to highlight the intricate alter.  I visited this, as well as a number of other churches while I was recovering from my run in with the stomach flu.  While most of the rest of the group visited the rural communities for two days, I slept and was sick.  But the afternoon of the second day I was able to walk around and take some pictures in the nearby churches.  At least something good came out of it.
