Current Date: 2000
Qpawn 2000 is an established nation sim that takes place in  modern times. You lead the nation of your choice into the new millennium while  confronting domestic and international problems. Among other things, you write  laws, create trade pacts and alliances, declare war and try to make your country  a respectable force in the global arena. Although military is an option,  dominance isn't achieved solely through brute force. Sometimes you may need to  use subterfuge, or assert yourself economically to get your way. This game isn't Risk, and as such, you must also consider political and economic factors  when making the decision to go to war.

There are just a few things that you should keep in mind if  you decide to join us:
Play in Character: this is a  role-playing game, so that doesn't  mean you should bring all of your personal values here. Being a libertarian  in real life is all well and good, but bringing it to Communist China is  inappropriate, for example.
Have Objectives:
it is hard to move the game forward without  players having objectives. To do this, you have to decide what kind of  character you want to be. Are you a nation builder interested in making lots  of domestic improvements? Are you a trader? A war hawk? A peace-loving  diplomat? Decide what you want to be and set objectives to achieve that  image.
Avatars:
these are a group of experienced gamers who have  volunteered to run Qpawn 2000. They are unbiased in their decisions that  affect the outcome of player actions. They process your actions and write  official news that keeps the game moving. Being an Avatar is demanding of a  person's time and energy and as such, Avatars are entitled to respect. If  you disagree with an Avatar decision, talk to them in private about it. A  real effective way to get blacklisted by game leaders is to question them  publicly.
Actions:
when writing a domestic law, making a domestic  improvement, military moves, foreign treaties, spy moves, etc, you are to  post these in your national forum (ex. if your country is Israel, post in  the forum named Israel). Only you and your Avatars can read what is posted  in these forums. When writing an action, just describe your moves. Say what  you want to do and what you want to accomplish, but avoid long-winded  tirades. Avatars have dozens of other orders to attend to, and we can't  spend all of our time combing through one order that would take up several  printed pages.
Budgets/Economics:
the currency of  Qpawn 2000 are called fp's. One fp is equal to $100,000,000. This currency  is used to add universality and to make the mathematics of large economies a  little less cumbersome.
If you are new:
be not afraid! There are gaming veterans in our  presence and more than likely, they will steamroll someone who is  inexperienced. But the most effective way to learn is by experience. Every  time you get beaten up, you get a little bit stronger. Some day, you will be terrorizing the newbies! And of course, Avatars are here to help  with any questions.
