Lamp/Window Detail Drawing

This was the first of the beginning drawings for the class. We had to pick several objects and sketch them against a background. I'm not sure if we were supposed to use windows as the background, as this was a long time ago, but apparently that's what I did. We were supposed to make them "realistic". I remember the teacher asking later on if we actually saw the lines around the objects like that, to which we naturally had to reply "no". Thus began some fun learning!

This was my black desk lamp, looking out of the one of my two dorm room windows. It may have been the right window, as the left one, with much more interesting accessories, makes a cameo appearance in the third "detail drawing".
