Age at Start of Game: 30 Place of Birth: Harriet Keep, just outside of Raleigh (a small town half-way between Cardiff and Derrium), Southwest Continent, Planet Britannia, Alpha Quadrant. Height: 6'2" Weight: 165 lbs Hair: Brown Eyes: Blue Mother: Lady Alexandra Harriet Father: Lord Albert Harriet, deceased Brothers: James, Jonathan and Trevor (all deceased) Sister: Helen (deceased) Education: Private teachers taught Tristan from the age of four until he was 18. Unlike his brothers who were being groomed to play major roles in his father's holdings, Tristan, as the youngest son, was allowed to study whatever he wanted. This meant Tristan does not have the business or governmental training that his brothers did. Instead he studied literature, sociology and science. He is currently studying business and politics. History: ristan is the youngest child of Lord and Lady Harriet, one of the richest and most influential families on Britannia. The family holdings are found on almost every continent and the family has houses with staffs in most of the major cities. Because of his older brothers, his father thought he already had an heir, so Tristan was given a great deal of leeway in his early life, as long as he didn't do anything to embarrass the family and showed up for the important social events. His brothers, on the other hand, were constantly under pressure from their father to learn the family callings, politics and business. When Tristan turned 18, he went to his father to give him the biggest news of his life. Tristan had saved up enough money, with his mother's help (he was always her favorite) and had bought a warp-capable freighter and hired a crew. His father was surprisingly supportive. Over the next 10 years he explored outer space while hauling freight, which he saw as a way to pay for fuel and weapons for his ship,The Seraphim. Still he always returned home for his mother's and father's birthday. His agreement to attend his father's birthday (one of the social events of the year on the southwest continent), was part of a deal with his father who paid for an engine upgrade, to an old galaxy-class engine. The Seraphim is extremely well-armed for a freighter, but not in comparison to a Starfleet combat vessel. It's primary advantage is speed. The engine can reach and sustain Warp 9.97, and it has a cloaking device. The Seraphim, parked in a hanger on the keep's grounds, is still operational and occassionally Tristan still takes it out for a spin. Even though Tristan was the captain and owner, he was smart enought to follow the advice of the experienced crew he hired, especially in the first few years. Wile the Seraphim's captain, Tristan made contacts on dozens of different worlds, contacts he used to help gain off- world trade for businesses on his continent. He also had some less than friendly run-ins with Starfleet. Though never charged with anything, he was often viewed with suspicion. Tristan distrusts Starfleet and the Federation. He views them as arrogant do-gooders who think they are always right. When civil war broke out, Albert Harriet became one of the few Lords to support the rebellion almost from its inception. The civil war caused major damage to the southwest continent and after Phillip IV's overthrow, Albert began investing his own money in rebuilding the continent. He also gave full support to the new ruler, Eve I. Two years ago, Tristan was late returning for his father's birthday. It is the only reason he is alive. Loyalists to Phillip IV planted and detonated an explosive at the party. Every member of Tristan's family but his mother, was killed. Tristan immediately realized that he had to stay. There were four crew-members with him from the beginning and they also decided to stay and help him: T'Kon and T'Pel, two married Vulcans, Janice Perkins, a human who runs his private security for his property and holdings, and Bra'tak a 7' tall Klingon warrior who serves as his personal bodyguard. All are absolutely loyal to him, and he to them. After much pressuring from his mother and friends, Tristan recently ran for and won a seat in Parliament. Tristan prefers simple, functional clothing. Often times a pair of slacks and a leather jacket is what he wears. He is curious and inquisitive, but is still learning the ropes of his new roles In many ways he is not used to the politicking and on occassion will lose his temper when dealing with leaders who seem less interested in doing what's right for the people and more interested in maintaining their power. To him a leader isn't there served by the people, he serves the people. Tristan is politically liberal in most ways, though he is dubious of the Federation and is convinced Britannia must be careful to avoid giving up what makes them unique. |
